Indoor Skiing in New England

Getting ready to launch a "give us money" campaign for an indoor ski and snowboard facility in the greater boston area. Would love some support, and shares around the inet to get the word out about this opportunity. While still a plan on paper, we are working towards opening our doors in the next 12 months with your support. Throw us a like on FB and ask all the questions you want.

TazerWould there not be huge queues for the jump/pit if it gets popular and there is only one?


They call that one of those good problems to have. In reality we hope there is enough demand to have a scheduling system to keep groups small.

so this would be like a combo of of Woodward at Copper and Snogression.
you might as well complete the circle and add a skate park. More revenue and might be an easier way to get investors. It would be Woodward at Boston

This is probably the first thing I'm actually going to support on a kickstarter. That being said, make it on the north side of boston so me and mmccarthy can access it easier

noooooooooo straight down the route 2 corridor anywhere. thats where nashoba and watchusett are so thats who you would probably end up pulling business from. Also that makes it viable to do day trips from the north shore and the south shore.

This exactly, do something like rye airfield to have not just one thing specifically for skiers and or snowboarders. Hopefully expand and add in the future with more revenue.

Yup do this for sure. You should def try and contact the guys a snogression and woodward im sure they would love to expand to the east coast.

You never know all they might need is a hard working driven guy to get the ball rolling.

Most things will already be done for you like layout of the space, funding, marketing, etc.

I live south of Worcester and in the winter the nearest mountain ( wachusett) is 50 min away so in the offseason with the same distance heck yea sign me up

if a guy can make 70 grand off making potato salad i have no doubt you can make this happen.
live in maine so I could take the train down and this would be super awesome for summer.

Get a kick starter started an I will put in 100 bucks.
I miss skiing in summer.

If you did add a little skate part for people in the winter you'd for sure make more money and the word would spread of this ill place faster. also, in the winter there should be outside rails

tbh, i would think it would only work by being open in like springish-fall, when theres no snow. to get revenue during the winter, maybe convert it to a indoor skatepark

While def something we've considered, reality is that most legit places to ski are 2+ hours from boston, with the exception of Nashoba and Wachusett. When you can't make the drive, why not spend a couple hours on weeknights dialing your game in for weekend trips. We'll be open year round!

And while we have def explored the idea of the skate park, this would be a future development as there are bunch of competing skate parks in the greater boston area, and we just arn't looking to compete in the skate realm for now.

I agree, you might see a little loss in revenue during the ski season but no matter what I know that I would want to go there even if it was winter. Stoked for this!

I hope its in the general area of Waltham or Framingham. That way people from the south and west can access it easier. People up north don't have to drive a million hours to get to the real mountain so at least throw us a bone and make an indoor place kinda close

Check out Fitchburg or Clinton MA if you're still looking for a location. Lots of mills and factories that people are trying to sell or rent out for cheap.

If you build this in fitchburg I will ride my bike there uphill both ways to get there every day

Theres a T stop here too so access from Boston won't be too bad, perhaps you guys could work something out with Wachusett to rent out their Ski Train during the summer when they don't run it.

however there was an update on their wiki page....but ill believe it when i see it.

On March 13, 2014 the Triple Five Group announced a settlement was reached with the New York Giants and New York Jets allowing the long-delayed project to move forward. Construction has been ongoing since November 2013 and was expected to pick up in early 2014. Although no timetable for completion was announced, the developer originally said it would take about 24 months to complete the project once construction began.[19] That April, Triple Five released a revised design for the mall's exterior and confirmed a tentative opening date in late 2016.

Make a big jump and a small jump(possibly right next to each other) and maybe a moderate sized rail in all the time but change it out with a different moderate rail once in a while, and then like dfd's and stuff like that to keep both average and good skier accommodated.
