Offseason Decision Making

I'm new to the forum, although I have used it as a source for researching stuff for a while. I'm 5'11", 22 years old. I got into freestyle skiing around 08 or whenever Volkl released their first Ledge ski. I rode that for 2 or 3 years and enjoyed it for the most part. I did like the fact that the Ledge was 100% symmetrical. I then got the 2012 Armada AR7 a year late during an end of season sale. Really like the ski, but kickin myself for getting the 171 when I probably should have gotten 181. I definitely found the AR7 to be much more stable at high speeds over the Ledge. It's now the time of year when I'm getting the itch to ski again and I'm thinking about possibly getting some new skis. I've read a ton on here about ON3P and some on Moment. The Filthy Rich looks awesome, I'm just worried it's gonna have too much rocker for my type skiing. I am an advanced skier on the east coast, probably a 65:35 jump to rail ratio. Majority of jumps are anywhere from tiny jibs to medium size. Some days I'm in the park all day, others not at all depending on where I'm at and who I'm with. I definitely want a park focused ski that can kill it anywhere on the mountain as well. Would the Filthy Rich fit my needs? I'm open to any advice and suggestions.

Which is more important to you, a symmetrical shape, or all mtn versatility? Usually, both those factors are not usually found together. The FR's generally are more versatile than other symmetrical skis due to the rocker for soft snow, but if you liked the stability and the skiing style of the AR7, they would be very different.

A symmetrical shape shouldn't matter too much unless you spend a lot of time switch. If you don't mind giving up a symmetrical shape look at the ON3P Kartel 98. They should handle both the park and all mountain excellently. At 186cm they're 128/98/121. Which is still very symmetrical.

I still have my AR7s from 2011 and do love them. They have been my every day ski for last three years in Colorado( other than pow). If you want a full traditional camber park ski similar to AR7,ON3P makes one. Its called the Prester. Comes in 176 or 181 (your sizes). It's not full symmetrical but if your not consistently riding switch whats the point? I've never had any issues on my AR7s switch and I ride them -2.5.
Prester is actually similar dimensions to AR7s. Anyone here who owns AR7s and presters to say whats stiffer?

I'm just going to guess that the prester is stiffer. Because ON3P makes pretty stiff skis on the whole (excluding the Kartels). Also they wanted the prester to be stiff.

Thanks for the input, I was thinking anywhere between 180 and 186 will be best for me, agree? I forgot to throw my weight in, 145 lbs at 5'11".

Depends if you get it a ski with rocker.

Is there a ski similar to the AR7 in terms of stiffness, but with slight tip/tail rocker? I want a rockered ski, but I think the FR is going to be too much rocker for my style and where I ski.

186 filthy or 181 Prester, you could get away with either 186 or 181 kartel
