I know there are more brown pow lovers on this site, yah there is pinkbike but lets be honest, newshcoolers is wayyyy cooler. so lets posts our rides, questions about components, mechanic questions etc in this thread.

I just bought this beauty and i definitely sacrificed uphill capabiltiy in order to get a beefier dh/park bike. id been on a nomad for a while and it's a huge switch in riding styles for me. definitely getting used to the weight and having to keep speed a lot more.

specs for said beauty, 2011 rc2 dh totem, 2012 dhx rc4, highrollers front and back (gona go dhf front and highroller in the back), mtx 33 wheel set, slx brakes, diablous cranks, FSA 760mm Handlebar, Shimano SLX Shifter & Shimano Deore XT Derailleur.

As someone who just rode Killington yesterday, you're a fucking moron. Killy has way longer and more gnar/fast shit than Highland. Highland only beats Killy by having bigger jumps and features but there's more to riding than smooth flow trails.

Thanks man. Union is pretty crazy all hand built and has been there for almost 30 years. There’s over a hundred jumps they just go on for ever

Fuck yeah had a sweet trail ride today dirt was primo also. Aaaand got added to a Tuesday night group ride chat. They climb up the fire roads at the ski area two to 3 times since it’s 700ish ft of vertical a climb and do two to three downhills which is perfect cause I’m only rly good for 2 uphills and dhs

I like what you were going for in these two, tree trunks can make for some great framing in a shot, but these miss the mark a little bit. The trees kinda dominate the shot in the first one, there is nothing wrong with cropping a photo to balance the composition or make the trees less distracting. The second one the tree trunk just seems like it's in the way of the shot and makes it feel unbalanced.

From my amateur opinion, i think the second one works pretty well, but yeah you’re right about the first one

Apex/White ranch are probably the best trails on the front range. Floyd hill is also pretty great but it’s short and not super challenging.


Deer creek is good too but there is a lot of hikers on it. Try to go during a down time. Not on the front range anynore but those were the rides.

Lair of the Bear - I do like this one, it's not challenging - fast and flowy, but definitely the busiest of all the trails mentioned so far, forget about it on a weekend unless you get there REALLY early.

I have some major nostalgia for LOTB and really want to get a ride in there the next time I visit colorado. The last time I rode it I was on the first mountain bike I bought with rim brakes, a 21 speed drivetrain, and a coil sprung Suntour fork.

I live up in scummit and was considering giving the city life a chance. Went to denver for 1 fucking night and our car got totaled by a drunk driver. Fucking hate cities. Keep me in the hills lol. Why did you move down there?? Assuming due to insane rent and low paying jobs??

Lmao fuck cities are awful. Went to Vancouver for the week to visit my gf, we fuckin got backed into while walking across and intersection.

The air quality down here has been terrible lately, lungs start burning 2 miles into a ride on some days, brutal

So idk how it was in the states, but the past year in Ontario, shops have been completely cleaned out of bikes. My shop never had more than two unsold at any time. We were just selling the damn things out of the catalogue. So I walked into a shop in Kamloops today for an interview, and just about shit a brick. Holy shit. Looked like they had almost full inventory of bikes. Blew my mind. Sick tho, cause I might be able to demo some shit this year!

welp, finally fully destroyed my rear hub. previous owner had neglected some maintenance so i had some wiggle side to side if it wasnt tight enough and it was just crappy cup and cone bearings. i repacked it several times and replaced the balls and it went for almost this whole season but last night it literally completely seized up and got pretty hot. freehub also bound up good. and now of course fricken no where has a new wheel.

He obviously means Before Christ. Its an extremely common term. Basically you assemble a bike out of sticks and rocks to the specs of what they had more than 2000 years ago and you ride around villages trying to perform miracles. There were no pedals back then so it’s essentially an adult strider. Super hip and extremely core right now. Word on the cobble stone street is that BCing is how freeride world champion Isaac Freeman stays fit in the off season.

I'm going to be there later this week what should i ride? i like tech but not crazy tech, raw handcut stuff, soft dirt in the trees, basically anything but dry and loose. Think i'm going to do wheeler- miner's creek one day for a big scenic ride but then also looks like there's a whole bunch of good stuff on the east side of town too
