I know there are more brown pow lovers on this site, yah there is pinkbike but lets be honest, newshcoolers is wayyyy cooler. so lets posts our rides, questions about components, mechanic questions etc in this thread.

I just bought this beauty and i definitely sacrificed uphill capabiltiy in order to get a beefier dh/park bike. id been on a nomad for a while and it's a huge switch in riding styles for me. definitely getting used to the weight and having to keep speed a lot more.

specs for said beauty, 2011 rc2 dh totem, 2012 dhx rc4, highrollers front and back (gona go dhf front and highroller in the back), mtx 33 wheel set, slx brakes, diablous cranks, FSA 760mm Handlebar, Shimano SLX Shifter & Shimano Deore XT Derailleur.

The rebound sticker got peeled off my shock and I get easily confused by which way is which and have lost track of my rebound position the last few rides when I try to adjust it. I obviously struggle with making sense of suspension tuning so I did the logical thing and ordered a Lyrik Ultimate RC2 so that I will have even more suspension settings to fuck up.

Anyone know of people who film mtb with like a vx or hvx or pdx? Ik 50to01 has so vx videos. Ik friends and parents who just think grainy or slightly grainy stuff looks dumb. For me it feels more idk like realistic and less sterile looking. Just wanna find more videos like that but with mtb. If there’s not many out there looks like I have another reason to buy a hvx

The folks at transition bikes just get it. So hyped to be able to slam a 210mm post on my medium frame. This bike continues to blow me away.

Naw, this bike shortage thing is gonna last awhile. There are probably gonna be more people looking for bikes then people trying to sell bikes, so I bet its still gonna be nuts.

Just saw a Al Dl Process 153 29 which when the dude purchased it was 3400 and he’s tryna sell it for 4900 with a upgraded dampener in the fork that’s it. I was laughing when I read the pinkbike buy sell post. Shits nuts, sad thing is I could see someone paying that with this market

People come to my store to pick up bikes, and ask about returning their ride if they don't like it. Like don't fucking return it, just stick it on FB for retail+200 and It'll be gone in a day. Its so fucking nuts.

Right? I'm spoiled now and can't imagine going back to 170. Think I'm gonna have to order a Patrol this fall for next summer.

The lever for my dropper post got ripped off during a ride and I put a normal seat post w. a quick release in as a temporary fix but I honestly don't see myself switching back now. I can drop my seat so much lower, my bike feels lighter and have 1 less thing on my bars.

It never really inconveniences me for the stuff I do. For riding bike parks/jump trails I can just climb to the top and drop the seat. For XC rides I can just do the whole ride with my seat up and drop it down for the big descents.

Must just be my luck and the type of bikes, but I've had a few bike now that I can get my seat lower with a dropper than with a quick release. A combination of long legs requiring a long post and having bottle bosses on the seat tube. However I will admit that I rode for two seasons without even a quick release and was perfectly happy busing out a 5mm to lower my post. But now I would never willingly go back to not having a dropper, I'd even want one on a gravel bike.

A temporary fix if you can't find a dropper lever you want in stock for the time being is to modify the internals of a left shifter and remove the ratcheting mech and the release lever. Pretty common mod for drop bar levers when converting from 2x to 1x and a dropper.

Yeah that bike looks pretty rad. I'm still not sure if a mullet bike is something I would want. I'd be curious to try one. Im wondering if you could run a 27.5 front wheel with a 180mm or 190mm fork on that bike.

I mean, with that straight head tube you can run anything haha. This geo calculator would spit out final geo for just about any fork/wheel combo you'd like to nerd out on: https://geo.syn.bike

I'm pretty sure between reach adjust and angle adjust headsets you could get either wheel size, and just about any travel length to work pretty well on the front end of that thing. I've never ridden a mullet for any real length of time, but coming from a long travel 29er I just want to buzz myself a little less, and maybe have a slightly more playful ride.

This is great, I'm trying to do some big changes to my Kona Woo with a longer 29er suspension fork and an angle headset and this is exactly what I needed.

I've got a 130mm air spring and I'm just waiting for a Hope Fatsno or DT Big Ride 350 to come in stock so I can lace up a rear wheel, and have a fancy Absoluteblack narrow-wide cog so I never ever drop a chain even if run a little slack in the chain. Might need to share a front wheel with my trailbike for a while though.

Enduro bikes are fine in the park unless you ride double black tech all day

Lol just run it stiff. I ride a 130/130 bike on some steep fast trails techy trails just stiff af. Atleast you have a bike to use also. I prefer shorter travel bikes in most situations also cause they more poppy and playful. But to each their own

I already run it above recommended psi. I’m too hard on bikes and I don’t want to destroy something with that small of a travel for trail rides

Anyone ever been or hear of anyone bitten by a rattlesnake when riding? I saw one monday coiled up, pissed off and rattling on the trail. Now I can't help but to think of all the ones I don't see.

i actually did that before while i was waiting for my new brakes to show up. i only rode street but shit was still terrifying. gave me a new respect for the bmx guys
