I know there are more brown pow lovers on this site, yah there is pinkbike but lets be honest, newshcoolers is wayyyy cooler. so lets posts our rides, questions about components, mechanic questions etc in this thread.

I just bought this beauty and i definitely sacrificed uphill capabiltiy in order to get a beefier dh/park bike. id been on a nomad for a while and it's a huge switch in riding styles for me. definitely getting used to the weight and having to keep speed a lot more.

specs for said beauty, 2011 rc2 dh totem, 2012 dhx rc4, highrollers front and back (gona go dhf front and highroller in the back), mtx 33 wheel set, slx brakes, diablous cranks, FSA 760mm Handlebar, Shimano SLX Shifter & Shimano Deore XT Derailleur.

Bike market is insane right now.... inventory is so limited I just sold my 2016 Santa Cruz for 2500.... paid 2700 in 2017 😂 200 bucks for 4 seasons on it 🙌🏼

I don’t but people have a habit of finding my trails. And trail forks tracks you if you don’t click in app only. So I’ve had some of my friends riding them and then the trail show up on heat maps. Not tryna get the better trails IMO shut down

I wish we could have secret trails but there are no trees here so every trail you can see from miles away. Our secret trails lasted 12 years and got destroyed last year

Any thoughts on Co2 vs a solid pump for a tubeless setup? Gonna be cranking out some longer rides this summer. Co2 seems cool, but idk if it will have the volume to fill up an mtb tire, but not sure if a small pump, even a high-flow one will be able to reseat the tubeless bead. Or do I just carry a pump and a tube?

Oneup EDC pump is great.
You can even fit a co2 cartridge in the handle of the pump, which is nice for resetting the bead.

CO2 inflates really quickly and works great with a tube. I haven't had a problem seating beads, even on 29rs, but again only after a tube is thrown in. The cartridges come in different sizes, so you can get large ones if you're worried about volume. I'd imagine a small pump would work fine too but I don't really have experience with em.

I got frostbite on my finger one time because I was too damn stoned and didn't know how to use my CO2 inflator.

If you use the OneUp pump instead of CO2 you can put yer weed in it. Or practical things like a tire boot, plugs, etc.

I just realized in the last 6 years of riding I have had a grand total of three flats, one of which was a pinch flat when I was still riding with tubes and the other was a rim dent that caused loss of seal at the bead, the third time was failure of a valve stem gasket due to over-tightening which I rode out on cushcore.

For anyone who is hesitant to CushCore due to trail side repair difficulty, you can actually install a tube and leave in the insert if you don't want to ride it without air (which is totally doable on a decent but sluggish if you have to pedal a lot)

Ughhh 🤦🏼I kinda hate being the guy my friends know for who knows a good bit about bikes. Like I’ve told them 40 times 4K for a bike with a NX drivetrain is a waste of money. But they say it looks cool or the brand is just better🤦🏼 Then getting constantly asked my opinion on the bike. They won’t buy or asked how to fix stuff they have no clue fixing. Get upset when I say take it to a shop. 2 of them also won’t listen to me about servicing their fork then got angry when they both blew 🤦🏼 Wholy shit I’m not getting paid either. Might as well work at a bike shop and get payed for this shit

I’d personally rather spend 4K for a bike with better suspension and breaks and a NX drivetrain than a 4K bike with lower end suspension and a GX drivetrain. Something like the ripmo AF

They also would rather have “cool” brands in their words than paying for a bike that’s actually worth the price. I personally don’t think level T breaks and a Yari are worth 4K with a nx drive train. I think it annoys me more that they know my answer as they’ve asked these questions multiple times and continue to ask. Or like the fork thing. One of the bought used a trek ticket with a pike dj and won’t listen to me about services and just blew it. And got all angry when I said it coulda been prevented

Gonna take a leap here and based off of the Rocky Mountain sizing chart for current model bikes this wouldn't be too small, you would be between an L and XL according to RM.

Pretty shitty tbh. Good luck even finding a parking spot. There are some new trails down at Tiger mountain near Seattle which are apparently pretty fun. Might be worth checking those out instead.

Yeah not a bad bike, things to note are the non-boost wheels and the hg hub body so for 1x conversion that sets a limited number of cassettes you can use. Also note that a newer bike will be easier to upgrade.I'd offer 2000

I love riding flat paved roads around my neighborhood. They get so intense. Some of them have stop signs and blind driveways that make you dip snd dodge and slam on your hand brakes. A few times I’ve hit the curb and fallen on the ground and scraped my knees and elbows. OUCHY. I’m a fearless rider though.

LOL huge red flag right there, not to mention the horrible pictures and didn't even bother to wash the bike. I've seen so many people come into the co-op this past year who just bought a used bike off of someone and there are often so many signs of maintenance neglect. Someone even brought in a bike that couldn't even coast because the freehub pawls had dislodged from their seat and were jamming the mechanism, the seller told them it just needed a cleaning and a little wd40, but they were in need of a new hub/wheel.
