I know there are more brown pow lovers on this site, yah there is pinkbike but lets be honest, newshcoolers is wayyyy cooler. so lets posts our rides, questions about components, mechanic questions etc in this thread.

I just bought this beauty and i definitely sacrificed uphill capabiltiy in order to get a beefier dh/park bike. id been on a nomad for a while and it's a huge switch in riding styles for me. definitely getting used to the weight and having to keep speed a lot more.

specs for said beauty, 2011 rc2 dh totem, 2012 dhx rc4, highrollers front and back (gona go dhf front and highroller in the back), mtx 33 wheel set, slx brakes, diablous cranks, FSA 760mm Handlebar, Shimano SLX Shifter & Shimano Deore XT Derailleur.

Sounds like it could compliment a lock well, but I wouldn't use it in place of a lock. You might be able to see where the bike went, but you'll be chasing it a lot. Locks keep honest people honest.

I’m 100% getting this. Still get a bike lock lol but this is a great back up! Not sure the size but if I could internally go through the head tube to the top tube and secure it down and it still worked I’d be stoked!

The problem with many flow trails is that who ever is building them is typically trying to cover their ass by making rollable features instead of mandatory gaps/drops so you end up with small easy features. I think the answer is more flow trails so the kiddos can hit trails like this and there is an option to make more intense shit. I have a slope bike so obviously I’m into flow trails, dirt jumps, and slope courses.

side note:looking to expand the fleet. Looking for a used xl enduro for $3k near summit, co. Ideally 160+ travel.

I think the Ripmo AF so ugly. Everything about it is pretty normal until you look at the top tube and somehow it completely ruins the look of the bike

Pretty sure those are Bluetooth, so if it's out of range, you're fucked

r00kieSounds like it could compliment a lock well, but I wouldn't use it in place of a lock. You might be able to see where the bike went, but you'll be chasing it a lot. Locks keep honest people honest.


That’s a good point. I‘ll get one and use it as a backup. For $30 it could help with tracking down where it went if someone jacked it. But you’re right, a lock should be the first point of security

They are but I can’t find any anywhere also I’m just waiting till after this bike boom to buy a enduro bike. Hopefully all these trail clones unload their bikes for cheap when they have to go back to working

yeah i got a range for mtb and then a dj, bmx, gravel bike, older 26 dh build, and then a weird little older element thats sorta fun

I was gonna custom build a xl crdl 2019 Kona process frame with a bunch of fancy parts and I had all this cashed saved up and worked for. To find all the shimano parts I was gonna use aren’t available anywhere. And it kinda fell through and I was skeptical of an xl frame being to big. Hoping to build one up in the future but buy used and ride till I need to replace everything. Would most likely buy a alloy one tho used carbon sketchy. It’s gotta be a 2017/2018-2020 because those have like 420 or 425chain stays and aren’t insanely slack which is what I liked about the process

I'd go xl. If you scroll down and hit 'size and geo' there's a guide. xl is for 6-6'3, xxl is 6'2"-6'6" but has a monster reach and wheelbase. Today's bikes are really, really big it seems. Always easier to add stem if too small than it is too take away frame if it's too large.

Bunny hopping a bmx is a little different than doing it on a mountain bike apparently. My friend let me try his bmx and i like somehow looped out trying a hop and landed flat on my back

Ahh sick, that’s be a good build. My homie somehow got ahold of a new process 153 this year, except they sent him a Monarch on the back instead of the Super Deluxe + and he was pissed

I tried ordering a Al Dl with the lyrik and super deluxe last summer and I couldn’t even order one. He’s lucky he got one tho even without the super deluxe

Trying to plan a weekend trip to meet some friends in Park City, UT. Anyone got camping recommendations around there?

Group will be a mix of beginner to advanced riders, who are all decently physically fit. Any trail suggestions are welcomed.

Apple is far from the first company to make tracking tags. Might not integrate as well, but the tile ones have been around for a while.

I bought a Jeffsey last year, size XXL (I'm also 6'4", 185lb if that matters). The XXL is a tad bigger than i'd like, go for the XL if you want something more maneuverable or XXL if you want a monster truck

Very true, but the integration with the Apple Find My network is the selling point for me. There just aren't that many people who use Tiles. Any Apple device will automatically update the location of an airtag. There's hundreds of millions of Macs and iPhones out there according to Apple. Whatever gives me the best odds of finding a lost bike is what I wanna use

Haha about 17-18 years ago I convinced my parents to let me get a BMX bike (finally). First thing I did was go and attempt to hit the wooden skateboard kicker landing on pavement I had been hitting on my dad's hardtail MTB on it. Landed straight on my back, got a cool scar down my spine. I felt like (and still am) the biggest dumbass.

Idk if there are any good camping spots in PC itself. Personally I'd go to the Uinta Mountains and make the drive to PC each day.

What type of riding do you enjoy? The crest (most popular trail in PC and my personal favorite adventure) should be good to go by mid june, but most people shuttle it. The DV bike park is fun, even on a bike with 130 travel. I like riding Black Forest, Moosehouse, Insurgent to Riccochet. Double black - NCS, Redbull, and Evil Empire.

American Fork canyon would be a good option for a high alpine shuttle day. Lots of trails to choose from

Gonna have to disagree here. The shore is a downhill bike with a dropper post and a 12 speed transmission. If you live in a place with proper dh trails that arent shuttleable, id certainly rather pedal a shore up there than push up. Or just ride them on my scout because thats what i do anyways.

Yeah, I get that, and I'm stoked on that whole class of "winch and plummet" bikes, hell, I own one. I just think part of the magic of the Shore is that it isn't "practical", it's a little bit silly, with a pretty specific use case.

Was hoping to get my wife a mountain bike this year, but unfortunately the bike we've had a deposit on that was supposed to be here in May probably isnt going to be here until next year. It was a giant trance, anyone have a recommendation for bikes that are available online for under 2k? All local shops are empty unless you are willing to spend 4k+ at this point.

Keep an eye on Canyon's website. They're restocking daily. YT and Guerilla Gravity are both $3k for their entry offers, but they're restocking pretty frequently too. You can get a GG Trail Pistol for under $4k delivered in June if you order now. If I were you I'd rotate through all the direct-to-consumer brands until something shows up. Bikes are selling out within hours of going live. I wish you luck

My local shop has had rly good luck at getting orbea and rocky mtns in so I would try finding a shop that carry’s those. If not like others have said YT and Canyon are great choices, along with commencal. Polygon has more budget friendly stuff but customer service and durability is so/so

A like young raccoon was following me up the climb trail making like chirps and whining sounds like I was it’s mother. Was weird af. I left it tho cause the thing was big enough to be scary to get near. Definitely younger tho. Kinda worried now cause there’s a wildlife sanctuary and rehab place only a few miles away. I can’t find anything on their Ig or website about a escaped animal still kinda worried cause it obviously wasn’t close to full grown
