I know there are more brown pow lovers on this site, yah there is pinkbike but lets be honest, newshcoolers is wayyyy cooler. so lets posts our rides, questions about components, mechanic questions etc in this thread.

I just bought this beauty and i definitely sacrificed uphill capabiltiy in order to get a beefier dh/park bike. id been on a nomad for a while and it's a huge switch in riding styles for me. definitely getting used to the weight and having to keep speed a lot more.

specs for said beauty, 2011 rc2 dh totem, 2012 dhx rc4, highrollers front and back (gona go dhf front and highroller in the back), mtx 33 wheel set, slx brakes, diablous cranks, FSA 760mm Handlebar, Shimano SLX Shifter & Shimano Deore XT Derailleur.

I hate pilgrim. 50to01 is sick. I love remmy. Seths videos are good quality, daily mtb rider sometimes has cool videos like riding whistler on a hard tail. Matt Jones fucking sucks shit. Max fredrickson sometimes has cool videos.

I still enjoy watching Seth's Bike Hacks/Berm Peak, but it seems like a lot of "youtuber" mtb content is pretty cringy. I just mostly like watching good riding, its nice to just find good long riding only videos and put it on mute and turn on some of my favorite tunes.

Remy is my favorite. I agree with this 100%, only threw pilgrim in there because he does get pretty rowdy in his videos, kinda sick of his urban freeride though, was cool for a bit he needs to switch it up

Facts, the way he talks to her makes me cringe, watching his vids are straight up awkward sometimes, makes you feel like a 3rd wheel with some weirdos you met at the trailhead

I enjoy watching Jordan Boostmaster because it seems like he cares a lot more about just riding than being a "content creator"

Backyard Trail Builds makes me cringe so hard. Early on his trails just looked like he had no idea what he was doing and was barely a step up from the piles of dirt that little kids build in ditches. But it's kinda cool to see his skills improve a little bit, but it still seems like he has never actually ridden a well built bike trail.

I can't really talk too much shit though because the extent of my trailbuilding skills only includes maintaining existing trails and cutting beginner xc trails in a big group of volunteers.

I'm a sucker for Seth's content. Just an everyday dude who is living his dream but not in a cocky way. He's also done a lot to give back to the sport, especially in his local area which is cool. I watched a lot of Jordan's stuff this summer while in WA to see a trail before I took my gaper self down something I had zero business being on which was handy. All the others start to feel like Buckhouse but on a bike so I really don't care.

I'd actually say that bcpov gets bonus points for how well he storyboards and creates his videos. They're all have really good production and I like his style. Also IFHT is inconsistent, but has the best content

You really feel like people who can barely get through a machine built blue jumpline deserve more than someone with actual talent?

All these asshats and their "trail build" videos are only encouraging little timmy that he should just go out in the woods and start building some "sweet jumps" because seth the total bike hack did. We lost some cool shit that dedicated builders put lots of time and effort into, all because people just went and started building more shit in bad places. Fuck every one of them.

This. So much this. I wish YouTubers would spend more time promoting going to your local org's trail days, maintaining existing trails, and working with landowners and other builders to get cool shit built. The fetishization of "private" trail systems hurts everyone's experience and sets people up to go build bad trails in bad places that get the good stuff shut down. I've run into this at our local jump spot with kids putting up shitty features made out of pallets that look like trash and are going to get us in trouble with the city, because they saw some guy on YouTube do it. And then they spend time convincing their parents to let them build a crappy pumptrack in a too-small backyard, instead of working within the community to improve public jumps/pump tracks.

'Deserving' is totally a matter of opinion, but a brand reps job is getting their product in front of buyers and YouTubers have massive audiences. Seth drops a video of him raking leaves and has a million views by days end and those viewers view him as an authority cause vlogs show personality. X games real mtb got a fraction of that, and that's only once a year. YouTubers are dropping content minimum once a week. Think what you want about them, but they are marketing gold for brands.

Leverich dig day is on June 5, and I'm hoping to get some solo digging in during the next few weeks after work as the snow melts. Leverich had a really good turnout on the dig day two years ago and a ton of work got done, feels especially satisfying since it gets so much usage.

So I can send some jumps for sure. Nothing too crazy. But I have lil 23 pound dogs and 1 of them just boosts the doubles lol. Most dogs I see scrub the fuck out of jumps so I wanna get a dog trail edit of my dogs hitting the jumps. I got a buddy with a 360 degree GoPro and a drone and he’s a freelance media guy so I will throw him some beers and hopefully it’s cool.

Did some digging at Copper City last night, one group did some general trail tuning on High Ore and discouraging some trail widening, the other group tuned up some jumps and berms on Merry Widow so hopefully it's a little more flowy and less awkward.

Mid elevation trails are coming into shape few weeks earlier than normal. Great evening ride today! Doesn't look it from the pic, but this is almost exactly 8k elevation. Love this trail. Didn't see a single human, yet its really close to a bunch of super popular trails.

What if I got one of those new Apple AirTags and hid it somewhere on my bike? Thoughts? They’re small and waterproof and worst-case if something happened to my bike, I could track it’s location. Seems like a better investment than a bike lock.
