49,000 already preordered. This is taking off. It's pretty affordable, small and sounds like it works reasonably well.

There was another idea like this purely for skis that was really expensive wasn't there? Probably a bit more precise but way more expensive.

Im sure it must be pretty accurate to be able to find items in separate parts of a house but i wonder about whether the adhesion on the tiles would be able to stay onto a ski whilst in pow.

Keychain it to bindings or something?

Seems like a great application for it, can't imagine it would interfere with a beacon, but you never know I guess.

But if I'm skiing with my phone off already, why couldn't I just turn it on and connect it to a tile in the event of me losing a ski?

This is the main issue I see.

$50 a year doesn't seem that great to me either for what you're getting re ski location.

Where would you attach it to the skis?
