Ski movie trend?

I recently watched All I Can and The Way I See it, and I noticed a lot of things in the cinematography. Something that jumped out at me was that they both used a cool method of cinematics i have never scene. The scenes are when when the shot is panning across an area with no snow, and then snow washes in like water and a skier comes through it. Is this at all new? Any other movies doing this? Discuss

these two movies and valhalla all had chapters in them, too. that's not much of a trend though

The whole timelapse grass to snow type shots are kinda sherpas cinemas special thing.
