sketchy_kingOn holidays website it now says the park is staying on foxfire and the boardercross is staying on moonshadow but the snoozer park is being moved to fiddlers elbow.... Does anyone know what is actually going on ?


Honestly it's a toss up right now. One thing that's good is that hv now has Chris perks operating the cat for the parks. That dude knows what he's doing. I do hope we get someone who was as good or better with social media as pat Morgan. He really did well with planning events.

I'm about 99 percent sure that the "no invert" rule is a legal thing. I'm not sure if it's law or part of insurance but it's like that all over WNY. At least that's what the one guy told me after I tried a misty at Kissing Bridge last season.

According to a ski patrol friend, in the state of NY there are more intense insurance issues. If you do not allow inverts you get a hefty discount on your insurance, however if someone is hurt while doing an inverted trick the resort gets fucked with fees. That's why patrol threatens to take your pass. On the other hand, the small mom+pop resorts usually allow them and claim you're doing everything at your own risk, and hope they're insurance holds up if something does happen.

feel free to enlighten me if I'm wrong, that's just been my understanding

who cares what the rule is...they have never said stuff when I've flipped. its 100 percent an insurance thing. their park is kinda a waste of time anyway

My friends and I got kicked out 2 seasons ago. I did a handdrag off a knuckle and they have me a ton of shit. A couple runs later a friend of mine through a backie and they kicked all of us out.

Wait no lifties? As in, you just get on the chairlift and there's nobody there if someone falls off? There's gotta be at least people in those little lift houses, right?

And what do you mean by essentially no rules?

lol no it's not. Peek n Peak encourages people to progress and if that means throwing inverts...well we have an airbag to get them on lock before you bring them to snow.

I really liked the glades at holimont. Went there on a tuesday I think a few years back during a lake effect storm and was one of three people riding riding the trees. One of the best days of skiing I've had, real good vibes for sure.

It's liability for them. My old hill used to have this rule till they got new insurance.

I feel like Peek'n Peak really gets no love on NS, or in WNY to be honest. Park is sick, park crew is freakin' awesome, and they're always pushing the parks to the limits of what the hill can support. Holiday has gotten worse year to year, and park crew chooses to rake 15 feet to the side of a rail rather than the lip. If you're ever in WNY, seriously, check out Peek.
