BittnerAnd JOI isnt a comp that deserves much hype anymore IMO, why is it any cooler than Nine Knights? It isn't which is why it barley get coverage on here. Its a big jump and triples, with that being the extent of the creativity. How much more mind boggling can another big jump contest be, when there are already so many, and those without invite.
john18061806It's just that the JOI jump is one of the best built in the world, which encourages the riders to try tricks that can't be done on most jumps. It's not "just" a big jump and triples, JOI gave birth to the double cork 7 and many more unconventional tricks- i mean, there's a lot of creativity that can be done in the air, it's just that it doesn't really get the chance to flourish because most skiers don't spend all their time on 95ft jumps. Comps like frostgun, nine knights, and JOI put new tricks into skiing. I'm not saying that JOI is superior, just criticizing the lack of hype behind these contests, seriously give them more credit.
