How has your winter been so far?

I just wanted to share with everyone how horrible the winter has been down here in the valley and some of the mountains in utah. we have received probably 2 big storms that brought 5 or 8 inches of snow and like 5 or 6 giant storms that have brought over 10 inches of rain, there is no snow outside right now and i have never seen it this bad. one of my local mountains was actually closed the other day due to the large amounts of rain they received. So how has your winter gone in terms of snow getting gone?

Uhh the Midwest has been getting absolutely dumped on. I live in Cincinnati where we get maybe 20 inches total through the season when in January we had gotten around 26in alone. Home hill is Perfect North which opened the earliest I can recall.. I was skiing on Black Friday. they've had a killer year there, had a dope park set up before Christmas which Is rare.

I feel like Utah 3 years ago set a precedent for myself that has not been followed up. It would take a serious amount of consistent snowfall to get back on track with the totals that year.

OK considering Tahoe has had a miserable year. 2 good pow days in the last week. And I'll be able to ski on work trips. I think I'll get 8-10 power days and maybe 15-20 days total this year. I didn't get on the hill till Feb.

I'll take it I plan on finishing strong. Been golfing an insane amount too. A bad winter out west will still beat a good winter back east.


Nice not having a pass and being able to ski different mountains. Last year I had an epic pass and got some great days in April in Cham/Verb and this year I'm thinking of doing an interior BC trip around then since my car will be with me in the PNW so around April 5 when I am free its highly likely I go to Revy/Kicking Horse.

It's been alright. We had to battle rain twice witch made my life hard. Had just gotten the park stacked with features when the 2 days of rain followed by a deep freeze hit. Had to pull everything out of ice.


We just got a 1.5' storm though. Honestly just stoked to be riding. I don't care if it's groomers or what. People out the last two years gave me a new appreciation for everyday on the slopes. Yeah maybe I don't really throw down ever any more but I don't care. I like just being able to lean into some turns and if I'm lucky bomb some powder.

couple big dumps at hood in like october made everyone think this season was gonna be insane. we ended up having one of the driest november-decembers on record, but the snow is finally coming back.

Haven't been up to a real mountain yet, just been skiing COP and backyard setups. Got a lot better at rails but really want to ski pow. I'm going to fernie and then revelstoke these next weekends so it should be good as they are getting quite a bit of snow.

Great season on the east coast.. NJ/NY have been getting their share of storms.. Some rain and negative temps but that is standard. Nor ' easter expected for Wednesday into thursday!

Very very cold. Below average snow..but not bare by any means. About a foot outside atm. There's been 2 days over 20 the past 2 months..

Ski wise pretty good, I have progressed a lot but I took a gnarly fall and ducked my arm up 2 weeks ago. I also watched my friend blow his knee apart so I'm more of a free ride guy atm. I'm becoming a better skier all around though so I can't complain

Only have 5 days so far because my place of work always seems to be understaffed and I end up working weekends, despite the fact I asked for weekends off 3 months ago.

But those 5 days have been amazing so far. Day one was sunny and I was skiing well for my first day, 2 was one day after a storm, 3 was snowing all day, 4 snow-storm skiing, and 5 I got to ski with my friends at a new mountain for close to free.

One of the only mountains in BC with more than 200cm for a base. I have 33 days so far, 1 third of them have been sunny, the rest have been really shitty ice fog days. Can't complain, still the best season so far, hopefully I get to see more than just one pow day though.

I made it out west and am super stoked everyday I ride. The inversion in salt lake was god awful for a while though. People say its one of the worst seasons but compared to riding ice coast this shit is amazing. The west's worst days are a good east coast day.

i'm in europe (france) and xmas was shit, had very little snow, (2 or 3 decent pow days) and rocks EVERYWHERE. Juts lapped the park and jibbed, getting my brand new top sheet wrecked. It's been snowing everyday since a while now tho, can't wait to get back out there!!

My girlfriend goes to college next year, so I've been skipping a whole bunch of ski trips to Mt Snow and Okemo, which sucks, but sometimes you just have to take a step back, Im not looking to make a career out of skiing, so I just had to prioritize

Started out terrible, had a good storm or two in November, then a almost completely dry December-January, and now its just nuking. I had my first legit pow day last weekend (Alta) and it was fackin amazing !!!
