Hey guys im looking for a camera that is within a $550 Price range for some filming/ and mostly photography. Are there any cameras in that price range that are similar to the 3200/3100 and is getting the 3200 for a $100 more worth it.
Im gonna say that a t3i might suit you well. The t3i can take almost as good photos as the nikons and it can film which nikon blows dick at. And anyways you are more investing in the system of lenses.
"More of a surprise is that the Nikon D5200 really does present a problem for the Panasonic GH3. The more expensive $1299 mirrorless camera has a lot of extra plus points which I’ll come to in the full review of that camera soon, but in terms of image quality both the video and stills on the D5200 are arguably better."
"Detail is held onto very well up to ISO 3200, but it does require sharpening to be applied in post. The image is closest to the 5D Mark III in low light but for a lot less money."
"Now it is pay back time because the best selling DSLRs for video – the 7D, 60D and 650D – are firmly out-performed by the Nikon D5200."
The D5200 is from the last generation of Nikons. The D3300 and 5300 have added 1080/60P and other upgrades. Canon hasn't changed anything since the t2i.
I look forward to hearing more about how they "blow dick".
And I do think the D3200 is worth the extra $100. For me, 60p and a mic input is worth the difference easily. Its sensor also has a larger dynamic range and slightly better low light performance. The LCD is much higher resolution as well and can shoot photos at 4FPS over the 3FPS of the 3100, which I don't really care about.
Anyway I do believe you, the 5200 and 5300 look pretty dope.
NS usually comes to the agreement that a canon t3i takes the best video on a budget, but who knows. that might not be so.
And to the OP, the d3200 will easily be worth the 100$, as the d3100 is kind of a drag for video. It looks nice, but no 60fps, which is almost necessary is you plan on doing slow mo at all.
I own a d3200 and absolutely love it. Its great in low light situations, and performs miraculously in high light. The senor size offers better optical quality, and enhanced low light performance. As is any other camera, it's all about being able to use it/know it inside and out as well as investing in good lens(es). I love my d3200 and could ask for anything better. PM for more info.
Not really, I just feel it's sort of ridiculous that people still go around recommending Canons for video. Panasonic and Sony are both so much better, and Nikon isn't doing bad lately either
the nikon aperture live view issue is a bit of an asshole if you're doing anything with CPU zooms, even primes it's a bit of an issue. Have they changed that yet?
