All the money I earned during the summer holidays is pretty much gone. Bought an Anomie for 140 and a nice sexy opus for 400 bucks, including a pair of FKS' for 300.
Looks like a few others feel my pain of a completely new touring set up. Might get the airbag next year, and probably ask for the avalung for Christmas. Hopefully this stuff last about 10 years or so!
Works out to $200 a year, or $10 a day roughly! I think $10 a day for ski equipment is a good number to shoot for. My park skis and powder skis have cost me about $10 a day so far, and still have some life left in them.
How old? If it still fits and you like it, rock it. Spend money on something else you may want or save it.. I'm getting a new jacket and snow pants this year after waiting 5 years.
Actually guys who work their asses off, pisses me off when I work my tail off all summer for new stuff and then people like you just assume we're just handed these things from parents.
Or *insert fake comment about how poor I am and how I can't afford anything yet I go skiing all the time and have gear from the past 2 seasons or newer. But yeah, I'm dirt poor. Don't forgot I'm poor,* like the other people on here. I enjoy the honesty and seeing the varying amounts that people spend or don't spend.
And you forgot a lot of people here work for shops and what not so they get discounts. Or they just have a job dude.
already lookin at 1300 for my ski pass. need a bunch of different little things, hopin to get some dynafits and AT boots this year too...gunna be a tough one
I'm not trying to criticize what people spend, or say they spend, it's just that I feel like if I were to put that I spent over $2000 it makes me come off as a complete douche.
no sir, I've decided this year I want to design, build, and film on my own sticks. I love Moment and their skis, but this was just something I wanted to do.
I got really lucky, traded in my old boots for 80, bought a new pair of FT dropkicks for 240, and a balaclava for 20 bucks.
180 bucks, still got everything else from last year
K2 domains-$260 on insane sale
Jiberish lohi-$80
Jacket-$160
Poles-15
Electric goggles-free from a bet
Going to be buying a camera soon if that counts...so that's like all of my money
Oh and I know someone who dropped $10 GRAND on gear last year
so far zero. Need new gloves and need foot beds. I got a good deal for foot beds made for $50. I had my own foot beds so I just need someone to make them. I however need new boots because the boot I currently have will be too small because of the foot bed but the store I bought them from guaranteed me a fitting boot for a year and it hasn't been a year yet.
Got free skis this year from a mount mishap and want to get bluehouse maestros but am selling my powder skis to help fund that.
Well haven't picked it up yet, but just started the "fall" job to pay for winter so these are my Needs
Dyanfit Cho Oyu's-700

Dynafit PDG's- Hopefully less then 700
New Pair of Skins -100
2 Ice tools -250
Steel Crampons 150-200
Ski Pass 1000
and a bunch of other shit that I can't even think of now. Soon I will be fully set up.
No gear yet. Just my 2 season passes which came to just over 1000$.
Still need to get: Boots, pants, gloves, new helmet and just want a new coat too.
But highly doubt I'm gonna get any of that unless it's a x-mas gift. Too much school, not enough work, and ski season starts friday. Shiiiit
200 on some volkls 50 on bindings (good salomon bindings from a couple years back, such a good deal!) and since I saved quite a bit on getting cheap skis and not needing new skis, I could afford to get some spy platoons for 100 bucks
