Dilemma.

So work problems..... we've all had them before and we're going to continue having them in the future.
well the future is now, and I have a work dilemma. I'm going with my family to see a concert this weekend and I'm scheduled to work two days that I'll be gone. Now usually this is not a problem, ill just text my boss and tell him i cant come in, but now its different, i have taken off the last three weekends and i dont think my boss would like/let me take another one off. What do i do? do i just not go to the concert and work or do i say something.





help me pls

You are the only one that can answer this question. It all depends on how much of a pushover your boss is and how much you're willing to risk for a concert

Tell him sorry but I made prior plans for the weekend before I had knowledge of being scheduled to work. Id tell him that you can work next weekend if you need to in a show of good faith.

My understanding is anything after 40 hours is optional OT.

That just factors into how much are you willing to risk for a concert. I mean if a bunch of 14 year olds on NS tell you to go to a concert at the risk of being fired are you really going to take that advice?

My boss does this shit all the time. He'll come up to you on a Friday at 2:25, 5 minutes before you leave and ask if you'll work Saturday. He tries to make you feel like shit for not coming in since there's always one cocksucker who does. I tell him no every time. Mostly because I don't want to and only having two days off is bad enough, no way in hell I'm going down to one. And the drive for me to get to work is 110/115 miles round trip. It makes no sense for me to go down there to work for 6 hours when I'd spend almost 3/4s of what I make that day in gas.

Just gotta know how to play the game. A lack of not caring about being fired also helps as well.

i could find another job in a week if i want, but i dont want to. you literally dont realise how fun that job is, i sit inside and go on NS on my phone because everyones to cheap to go to a full serve.

Go to the concert. You can find shit jobs like this any day of the week so it doesn't even matter if you get fired. Shit, maybe getting fired would be a good thing. You could find a better job.

I would be less concerned about my boss and more concerned about my pissed off co worker when he gets called in on his day off. why do you need to take 2 days off to go to a concert? i assume its at night probably around 8ish

if this does not work simply kill boss and entire family
then after concert claim bosses old job, now you also have a promotion

Yeah you can go, just expect no one to cover you anymore. That happened at my job over the summer. This dude always called in sick the Friday before the weekend and when he actually needed to have it off, everyone pretty much told him to fuck off.
