I thought I was done with this thread but I guess I will join in for one more. As I stated earlier, I did misread the original post. I don't think the OP did anything drastically wrong. I would challenge his manager or trainer to spend a little more time working with the new guy.
Now on the bull shit about working in retail. The FACT is I love what I do. Where else can i influence an entire generation of skiers? How many of you remember going into the ski shop for the first time with your parents? I sure as hell do. I remember the guy that helped us. He passed on his stoke of the sport to countless groms, that have continued to pass on the love. I have seen the same families walk through the doors year after year. Seeing the kids grow from in mom stomach to ripping with them in the park. Yes I went to college. Yes I have had job offers outside of the shop but you know what, I turned them down. I leave a house every morning, that I own, to go to a shop that I can see the lifts out the window. I own (not financed) 1 truck 1 big ass SUV and a old as shit RV. My wife and daughter are happy and love me. I coach the local freestyle team on the weekends and get to ski 100+ day a year. I have more skis and bikes in my garage than most shops and guess what, I use them. Go ahead and look down and talk shit about the local shop guys and gals all you want. If it wasn't for all those hard working people the sport you love wouldn't be where it is today. At the end of the day when I get home. I'm tired from being on my feet all day. Yet I look out my window, see the mountains, my dogs, my wife, 2 year old daughter and I would not have it any other way. I feel good about the choices I have made in my life, I can only hope you can say the same at the end of your road.
