I just got myself an opus and it looks sexy as hell. Might as well as buy another pair of STH 16s and thats about it. My blue Twalls from 2 seasons ago are still holding up pretty well. What are you guys gonna buy for the comin season?

Katanas and Bent Chetlers arrived yesterday (both of them to replace Automatics). STH 16 Steel for both are being held for me in my friend's shop. Vulcans arriving next week. Scouts or Vagabonds still to buy (new touring/steep ski).

I picked up a couple pairs of STH16 steel in the spring. 
188 Directors just arrived, and I'm looking for some Dukes for them. 
I've purchased some Blizzard Bodacious and 916s yesterday.
Looking at a pair of 192 Bentchetlers.

I think I'm going to sell my Renegades and EHPs.

For the first time I can remember I'm sorting myself out with all new gear (except poles). My old gear is all haggard to death, trousers all ripped, jackets all janked up, my Invaders now have a rocker in the tail (too many presses) and my boots barely hold my feet in place.

so getting some Saga Fatigue Red Dawns, Line Chronics and whatever boots fit my feet and suit my needs, just need to find a sick new jacket now! Stoked for the new season, less stoked on the empty bank account!

Already got a pair of Surface '07 Watch Lifes for $150, T-Hall Peak bindings, and an UnderArmour unchained jacket. A pair of gloves and a yowie and I should be set.

Also, if anyone's ridden or knows anything about the Surfaces, it'd be great to know what I'll be riding next year. I couldn't find much about them for specs or reviews, so I just saw the price on them and went for it.

If you are just now thinking about what to buy for the upcoming season, you have wasted alot of money. I have been buying gear sense the day ski season ended, and I have saved literally hundreds of dollars by buying 12/13 gear that is brand new, and marked like 50% off because there is an obsession with having the latest topcoat/design on skis/bindings/helmets/goggles/yourmother. I never understood the huge obsession with buying the latest ski when functionally it is exactly the same as last years, when you can have last years for at least half the price. Hell, I have an extra pair of skis still in the wrapping for when I bust my current pair.

There are lots of skis that are completely different this year than last year. The afterbangs are pretty different. The new arvs have the titanium rid in them. Some skis are functionally different.

Still, it seems like most of NS is fairly young, and saving money is always a good thing. I cant think of a single thing that would ever make me personally buy a new set of this years skis at full retail unless I broke my skis super early in the season and didnt have a replacement set in my closet ready to go. I just find it amazing how many people that I know personally dont have the foresight to buy skis at the end of the season, then bitch about how much this seasons are, or ask why I just spent 400 dollars on ski equipment in June even if it meant I got a new pair of skis, bindings and goggles and helmet for that much because everything was 50-60% off.

makes sense but graphics are more important to some people and they are willing to pay the price. I on the other hand, bought last years opus because they simply looked better than this years model.

for skis and outerwear I agree but boots are completely different. I would rather pay more for proper fitting boots in the beginning of the season then try and save a bit of money at a local store for boots when they have worse selection.

IF i can squeeze out some more change I REALLY want to get some new boots. The Atomic Burner 130 from last year is my dream boot and i can find them for sale cheaper. Wish they continued it this year.

My Full tilts just aren't cutting it anymore even with ultra stiff tongues and adjustments. Need a more responsive charger for all mtn

Oh yes I completely agree on that, Boot selection is key. It killed me when I saw the 500 dollar boots I bought earlier in the season on sale for 250 the other day, same size. Allllmost bought them so I would have a back up pair lol.

A fun midfat rocker-camber-rocker ski around 100mm underfoot, FKS180 because I eat too many pies, and maybe a Nikon AF-S DX 10-24mm if I get back to Japan and can score one cheap.
