protect your eyes kiddos. i used to work on water using none or cheapo glasses and a few years on i can feel the effects. drug store glasses are probably fine but stay away from the asian boutique.

those glasses op posted are funky but probably worth more like $5

@logey. by no stretch of the imagination you could make the same rationalization about wearing your seatbelt or smoking cigarettes. "oh my great grandma smoked until she was 101 so clearly all those "health concerns" about smoking are garbage" or "my dad has never worn a seatbelt a day in his life and he hasnt crashed/died so clearly wearing seatbelts arent necessary"

I work at Oakley, basically here is the scoop about sunglasses at Oakley for all of you bitching about it.

Polarized and regular lens offer the SAME uv protection.

All Polarization does is cut out the glare.

Polarization works by cutting out one wave a light (typically there is two)

You can tell if a glass is polarized if you tilt your head sideways while wearing them them you'll hit a "black spot" where everything will literally go black when looking down the lens.

The one thing that Oakley has on them that other companies aren't yet doing (that I've seen) is replaceable lens. Yes they are way overpriced and Oakley charges up the nose and gets it for them. But in all honesty Oakley does have quite a few lens options for different lighting situations for both their polarized and nonpolarized categories which can be extremely helpful instead of looking out of a dull grey colored lens every day. They have rose based lens with a dark iridium finish that truth be told one of the best ones out their.



Yes Oakley's are expensive, but that's Branding and Capitalism for you. Frogskins aren't the best looking glass either at least for men in my opinion.

ill agree that those glasses are gay as fuck.
but many people seek to own sunglasses that serve a actual purpose.
whether that be uv protection, foreign material protection, sports specific etc.
i for one have slightly light sensitive eyes, if i dont wear sunglasses in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time, i experience temporary blindness.
personally, i purchase oakleys because theyre good, and help me avoid this little predicament, not because i need some stupid fucking plastic to cover my eyes.

Nope, i understand your point. Youre saying that im a hipster...because i dont wear name brand clothing. Wel i do, but i buy it when its on sale or clearance. If i DO have something thats really expensive its because one of my family members decided to buy it for me. And ocassionally ill splurge on something that i think is better quality . Because nice things are nice, like goggles, expensive goggles are typically better than cheap ones

Are you fucking stupid. You talk shit about sunglasses but then say you want expensive goggles. They're serving the exact same purpose and you probably wear your sunglasses more. This has got to be one of the most stupid things I've read from you.

Also, I'm going to keep buying good glasses because if I dont someones going to die. I'm a lifeguard and need to be able to see everything, keep my eyes safe from 8-10 hours in the sun, and when I have shit flying at me while working on the pumps and filters.
