The Camp of Champions Contest

Just wanted to let everyone know that voting is now open for the Camp of Champions video intern contest! What's on the line?

- $500 cash for 1st place
- Various Eira & Camp of Champions loot for 1st-5th
- The top 10 videos will then be combined with the top 10 from Vimeo, and the grand prize winner will be chosen by Camp of Champions out of these 20.

The grand prize? A month in Whistler interning with CoC's film crew, along with a GoPro Hero3 Black Edition, Eira jacket, pants, t-shirt and toque, a pair of Anon M1 goggles, a Red Helmet, and a limited edition Camp of Champions 25th anniversary Eira collab hoodie.

You'll be hanging out with the pros, making connections for the future and getting really good at filming and editing. I can personally vouch for how great an opportunity this is, as I've spent a session interning at CoC as the NS Bitch years back -- and I probably wouldn't be sitting here if it wasn't for that gig. Not to mention that $500 is a shit ton of money to make for just doing a re-edit.

What if i have a lot of likes on Facebook? Are they still taking that into account? Because more people have facebook accounts then vimeo accounts.

2nd-25th are still getting prizes. Sorry about the confusion, that was 100% my fault. Basically we've just added a $500 cash incentive for the NS Contest winner. So there's no need to worry about prizing -- just worry about making sure you take home that wad of cash!

Next week at some point -- CoC will need a few days to review all the entries but once they make the final call we'll announce the winners.

The NS side of the contest is now closed (you can head over and see the results on the contest page). We're just waiting until we hear from CoC about the Grand Prize winner, and then we'll announce it in an article / forum post.

You're able to sort it by rating and count down to 25 (not ideal, I know!). I've messaged the top 25 already though, so if you haven't received a message unfortunately you did not place.

And my video was uploaded via vimeo, not newschoolers, so it was never uploaded to the newschoolers/facebook app. Are those videos just dumped?

The rating didnt matter, they picked from the top 10 NS and top 10 vimeo videos, so your vimeo video was consider for the grand prize but you didnt enter the NS contest so you werent considered for the NS prizes.

Why wouldn't videos on vimeo be eligible for 2-25? I guess it's no big deal, I mean who knows if Ken would have liked my video, but it would have been nice if my video had a shot at some of the other prizes.

Why didn't you upload the video to the ns contest? Seems simple enough. Ns can't give away prizes for videos not on their site.
