European ski passes?

I'm moving to northern Italy in January to study abroad for a semester and I'm trying to figure ski passes out. Anyone have any suggestions of mountains I should go to or passes worth buying ? I'll be pretty close to Switzerland and Austria too. Thanks!

Actually, you were the one that opened the conversation with telling me to fuck off. I tend to become rude when people are rude to me. If you told me to fuck off in real life, I can assure you that I would be rude to you to your face.

And if your hiking for pow most of the season you would probably find that Scuol has some of the gnarliest terrain around, we have quite a large community of people just there for the touring/mountaineering/gnarly lines. Also, I think we need to get back on track with helping OP setting up some good trips for her year abroad, so in closing I wish to thank you for this heated exchange, nothing beats a bit of internet arguing.

I'm going to be wherever I end up studying from January until... whenever I decide to come back during the summer. Also trying to go to some FWQ's and in the US we have USASA and USSA for slope comps..are there any smallish comps in Europe? So I don't completely forget everything i know while i'm there

In Switzerland they have the Swisscom Freeski Tour which has tons of stops. In Austria, Switzerland and Italy they also have the Qparks Tour which has varying attendance and level, but can be quite good if you choose the right stops. I'm not a big comp guy, so not an expert, but check out downdays.eu to tab into the European Freeski scene in general.

Just officially paid the big bucks to upgrade to the full Epic pass to get the 5 days each at Arlberg, Verbier and Les Tres Valles. Anyone live around those spots? I'll definitely be using those days and probably buying some day passes to random mountains here and there when/if I can afford it. Woo! Winter is soon!

Where were you studying again? I live in Innsbruck, but I'll be working away from here for most of the season, but Innsbruck really is the place to be!

I live in Nendaz, Same ski area. 2nd biggest town in 4 vallees.
Much chiller vibe and better tree skiing.

So ya im in that area.

What I was thinking is that the three resorts you mention here cover a VAST geographical area, if you're near one of them, the others can be up to 10 hours away by car.

Yep I know!
I'll be in Ferarra, Italy but I'm planning on taking a train to ski several times a month (which is why I'm curious who lives around these spots so I can couch surf hah). They are all far apart but that's also why I like it, makes me travel around instead of just sitting in that one town for 4 months. I didn't choose these resorts they were just offered on the Epic pass. Normally I get the Epic "local" which is just Colorado mountains but I upgraded so I could ski in Europe.

Well, you should definitely try to visit those places if you can, they're all awesome!

For more accessible skiing in terms of transport time, there is also loads in Italy, I recommend the Dolomites, tons of resorts there and you can get them all on one pass.

And I just checked, for accessing St. Anton and Tirol in general, the train trip isn't even that bad, 5 hours will get you there. I can imagine that for Verbier and Les 3 Vallees you're looking at 10+ hours.

I remember you mentioning that pass before, any idea what the name is of the pass or the site you can buy it on?

Go to "plose" in Brixen. Its a fairly small resort, but usually has a pretty good park and I never waited in line for longer than 3-5min. I always thought it was way cooler than the bigger places like "kronplatz" and so on.
