The last few years I was like that, not 16-0 but at least some playoffs, maybe de-throne the Pats for a change. But every year we fall short when we had a chance. Its too frustrating to believe in my team. I wont abandon em, but I sure don't think they will be any good.

I think its a little of both. Was amped up and it was in the moment. But being loud and brash is an image he has chosen, also. It seems to be working since he had a chip on his shoulder for being unnoticed and drafted in the 5th round, and is now anything but unnoticed. Albeit maybe for the wrong reasons at the moment, but maybe it will make people take notice of his play, and start to remember him for the right reasons, instead.

I dont really know what you're talking about but Im pretty sure it doesn't refute my point that people can be broken down in to 'angry' and 'not angry' and that the 'angry' group is a. more likely to vote b. more likely to vote vengefully. It sounds like you' might be arguing over the degree to which is skewed rather than the skewed vs not skewed point I was making.

I honestly don't know what your issue is. I haven't whined at all, and I never said he was the first player to be overlooked, just that he was one of them and obviously has a chip on his shoulder about it. What's wrong with saying that? He has something to prove, and especially against Harbaugh because of their history. Why do you get so upset at the things that I say and start accusing me of nonsense like being a bandwagon fan or a whiny no-nothing. Everything I said was true. Just because others have been drafted late or scorned doesn't just cancel out the fact that Sherman was too. We are talking about Sherman...why would I randomly talk about Houshmandzadeh? I really hope you're not stating that Housh had a great attitude.

Any rational Patriots fan had to have a bad feeling about the game as soon as the first quarter was over. 2 overthrows on plays TB usually makes. Not a good sign. No run game either (credit to the Broncos) means that he was going to keep throwing which, as we saw, was not as effective as he normally is. I have no problems saying the better team won that day.

Does it solve the TB v. Peyton debate? No. This is going to be a debate like Ovi v. Crosby (this is still a thing right?), Lebron vs. KD. Each player has a claim at being one of the best all time, and each can beat the other on a given day.

This is why most Boston fans are pissed. Peyton is the medias darling, and as such, it irks us that it portrays TB as an inferior quarterback. Any person would be completely and utterly fine with TB or Peyton behind their center. TB has historically had lesser weapons than Peyton (minus the 2007 season) which is often overlooked. But you would never guess that by the way the media portrays it. This is in no way Peytons fault, but rather the medias. Its the "Lebron effect". Peyton loves the media, while TB does not. This gives the media much more access to him, his life, and as a result, provides more coverage to his case.

Rant over.

Side note

Most Patriot fans are figuring out which is the lesser of two evils to vote for. Realistically, I think it is actually a 50/50 split. Some of us would rather see Peyton win another ring because he is a likable guy (its his fans that suck, just like some Patriot fans), while others want the Seahawks to win because they hate Peyton. Personally, I am torn, because my dislike for the Peyton fanboys rivals that for my dislike of Sherman. I do see myself liking the Seahawks more because of Marshawn Lynch and not Denver because of that BS Welker play.

My perfect game would see Peyton shredding Sherman to pieces, but ending up losing on a Beastmode TD

^^ whats funny is that i made per-season averages for brady/manning. the point is that manning is always considered THE REGULAR SEASON QB.

well, if you look at the stats, its really hard to see why he should be considered that much superior, EVEN in the REG SEASON:

there really arent too many stats that differ significantly and when you consider that they played in different systems (with the pats system changing all the time), i think their numbers are pretty much the same.

peyton has the edge on most factors, with him throwing around 10% more TDs per game than brady. he also throws 30% more INTs than brady, though, which is the biggest difference (excluding sacks).

sacks, imo are skewed the most out of the stats due to teammate/scheme. so its really hard to compare, but ceteris paribus, manning has a pretty big edge here.

i think people think that manning has a huge edge in the reg season because of his exaggerated amount of reputation MVPs and since most people think that both played roughly the same amount of seasons and see that manning has 15000 more yards and stuff, but he also played 3 seasons more.

not really a knock on manning. just an observation, that brady should be considered in the same breath, even when it comes to regular season success.

What are NS thoughts on the NFL removing the PAT?

The extra point kick in football has become the most boring and predictable play in sports. Only 5 PATs were blocked out of 1,200 attempts? How about....

Here are my ideas for what they should do,

1. Keep the PAT for 1 pt and the option to go for 2 from the 3 yd line. But add that if a coach elects, he can kick for 2 from the kickoff tee. If the kickoff goes through the uprights its worth 2 pts. If it doesn't you just treat it as a normal kickoff, returnable, touchbacks, etc.

2. Do it like rugby. Have the PAT kicked from where the goalline plane was broken at, where the ball is kicked from (in terms of yardage) isn't important. So if someone scores on an outside run and goes in right on the sideline, the kick is taken from the sideline, but at any distance. So you can kick from the 20 yard line as long as it is on the sideline.

3. Do away with it entirely and have the 2 pt conversion available on the 1 yard line.

4. Have whoever scored the TD kick the PAT.

Only problem with the rugby style PAT is what do you do with the lineman? If you score from the corner of the endzone theres obviously no room for a line, which is obviously what the hashes are for. Then the PAT from a hash mark is no harder than what they're doing now. Unless you go to full on rugby style kick with just one player on the field - but that's a huge change from what they have now

The NFL has a great product. With all these changes they're making it's seriously taking away from the product and these tweaks are causing diminishing returns. If it ain't broke, don't fix it

the PAT/system IS broke. there is a 99+% chance of converting a PAT for 1 point.

over the last years, a 2pter was about a 50/50 thing.

when the PAT was introduced, all that specialty thing wasnt as big as it is now and there was actually a chance of a miss/block/etc.

IT IS BROKE since it is not what it was envisioned to be. it features no excitement and even when its the gametying kick with no time on the clock, it is never more than a side note.

i know that jaguars game, blablabla. a once in a lifetime type of impact of a PAT shouldnt be overstated.
