Swear they just make up charges as they go along.  You can't view your academic records after paying for all of the classes and bullshit fees to begin with, but wait we want more money.  College is a giant scheme to rape you of your entire life savings.

But it goes both ways because Democrats enable this price hike with easy to get government loans. Government loans are a major reason for the high tuition.

To some extent that's bullshit. Canada offers tuition for under $5,000 because they pay more taxes. I don't see why we can't do the here in the U.S.

The ice cream example is mainly inflation though- also improved technology usually makes prices go down, look at how the price of microwaves/tvs plummeted over the years.

But yeah you're right how theres a ton of different reasons for tuition to skyrocket, fuck:

But it's lame how expensive it is. Makes CC seem do-able. SLCC has ex-uni professors that know their shit. I really do feel like You can get the same from a CC (minus your high-skill degrees like engineering and shit). Plus a ton of people go to CC for a semester and transfer in.

I think turning to socialism, as mentioned above, is a bit extreme. Instead, public colleges could just be forced to charge a reasonable amount. It's just another way for the government to net more money, when, meanwhile, a more educated population would help better in the long run.

lol, its actually some good shit though,I have duel citizenship and I am able to tap into all these Canadian programs.... and I don't even live in Canada(or pay there taxes). But seeing as my mom paid in to them for soo many years.. and now isnt getting shit...

If anyone is a fucking idiot it's the person that thinks paying a minimal tax for a reduced tuition rate is equal to paying off a student loan that you can't declare bankruptcy on and that has an interest rate that increases over time.

i'm a permanent resident and i get the domestic price. i looked at places like u calgary and u alberta, it was around 3k but who wants to go there? ubc is around 19k for me, and it's the only school worth going to in canada. that's why if i don't get in i'll be going to the us.

Still though, most mediocre schools, even for in state, START around 20k a year. Thats of course excluding community college. And I just don't get the allure of coming here. Sure we have a lot of good schools, but you'll be paying out the ass to attend. Im going to school in state and will have close to 80k to pay off after I graduate, and thats if I don't go to graduate school.

Im assuming you're talking about Montana State... Even if you're out of state its not that much compared to like every other school for out of state. Out of state with room and board and a meal plan is like $28,000 and in state tuition is like $5,000 (without room and board) and with it its like $12,000 so stfu and quit complaining

What are you taking at ubc that would be 19k a semester? Most of my friends pay about $500 a course which works out to $2500. Even with fees they pay maybe 7k a year which is very comparable to what you pay at other Canadian research universities (except maybe in Quebec although I know that has been getting more expensive too).
