Is a winch worth the extra money if your hitting urban a lot? Or is it best to just go with the bungee even though it takes a couple people just to pull it back?
It always pays to have a winch from an energy conservation standpoint, but there are certain situations where a bungee is preferable. Personally, I'd take a winch over a bungee any day
bungees are the cheap solution but only worth it if you have a pack of friends who are willing to go tire themselves out every time you hit urban.
We ran a 3 man operation with the winch, 1 filmer, 2 riders each taking turns running the winch. You'd only get a hour or two of DECENT hits on a feature with 2 people pulling a bungee before they are both gassed
i heard this as well, dont know if theres any truth to it, but it be interesting to hear the story if they did in fact get sued. ( wonder what for ) but ya i have no clue how true that is tho.
If you have spots where a car tow or two 20ft bungees tied together wouldn't get you the speed and you have 3-5 grand then yea. I have a friend that makes them for 3 grand (only a few a year) and there's Heine winch but they're expensive (the one poor boyz uses). A good winch should get you up to 90-110km/h max speed.
a winch aint cheap thts for sure, but theres so many more possibilities if you have one thats for sure. be cool to find a nice decent priced one on craigslist or something, new ones just to spendy for me, so drop in, and banshee guna have to cut it for me unless like i said , if i find a nice or decent used one for sale id love to have one, be a great thing to have in urban arsenal. but even used ones are spendy to some point thats for sure. but on another note anyone have any suggestions on whether a diesel or gas powered winch , and which one works better for majority of urban missions ? kinda found one for a good deal and was just wondering, thanks .
They should make something that you drive your car onto (sort of like the thing in ferris beulers day off) that spins some other wheels with a rope wrapped around it. I fee like I could make one for cheap.
yup. with scrap steel and scrap parts from a go kart track. there's magnitudes of information online, you just gotta have a few tools and some motivations.
