Ski Sizing.

Hey NS,
I need some help! I found a pair of 185 armada JJ's and need help sizing up. For reference i am 130lbs and about 5'7" and an aggressive skier. Looking for a ski is playful and fun to ski mostly all over the mountain(mostly my pow ski though). First off i need to know if these are a good ski for me and secondly are these the right size?

Not a terrible size. If i was you id look for a 175 personally. But they do have rocker so youlll want to size up somewhat.

I agree with the last post that 175 would probably fit you better since you're on the lighter side. As far as if the ski is right for what you want to do it would work great.

I'm exactly your size and 185 is a bit big I'd get somewhere in the low-mid 170s but if your skiing pow I don't think longer ski will hurt

Personally the way I look at it, for pow/big mountain go as big as you can handle for maximum flotation. However ski length is always, and this statement in particular is very dependent on personal preference. At your height/weight, I think it really depends on what you're aiming to do. If you're looking to jib around in powder, I'd probably grab the 175, but if you're planning on charging around on these a 185 may suit better.

Line Mr Pollard opus would be good for jibbing in powder. Check it out on their website they have some videos of Eric Pollard riding it. And reviews say it's supposed to be a playful ski. I recently demoed '14 volkl one and it was a really fun ski to ride, didn't get a chance to ride it in powder but it's a powder ski so I wouldn't worry about that.

Seems a little big but could work, Armada skis are a lot shorter sizing though so it should be fine. I am like 5' 10" and I ride a 172 Surface ski.

I have a choice between $200 opus (185)/ $200 JJ's (185)/ and New life (174). All come without bindings and brand new. Any suggestions?

Probably the 178 length but it skis pretty short so im sure you could ride the 185 w/o issue.

I'm sure you could still jib just fine in powder with the 185.
