every single one of their songs is exactly the same bullshit formula. same meter. same beat. same stupid guitar riffs. the same banjo coming on at the same point in every single song playing the same damn three chords over and over and over again, the same build up to a mediocre crescendo, then the same monotone vocals that put me to sleep.
horrible "formula" they have created. shits boring dude.
They're like a generic version of a melting pot of sampled and poorly executed style jacking sent through a hipster/indy filter and direct to you on the lovely radio station.
I mean sweet jesus, learn to play the fucking banjo if you're going to use it. Why not listen to real folk, grass, old country vibe kind of stuff. Why listen to somebody take piece of it and just butcher it.
I mean I rip on yonder for being over rated as a sting band and lacking on the banjo but damn, they're pretty much god's compared to mumford.
They're terrible. It's like a trendy rip off of this sort of old time folk vibe with the banjo in there so people think they're listening to bluegrass.
Also pretty much a one trick pony. They have a formula and just pump out songs on it. I probably would hate them as much if they weren't so popular with such a mediocre product.
Personally I love Mumford and sons, they are a little repetitive. But I love there style and their lyrics are actually meaningful unlike a lot of music that crosses the radio these days.
Just a tad. Their style isn't even their style. It's like they decided they could get some credibility by throwing in a banjo and some other stuff while doing their rendition of irish folk. Lets borrow this from here and this from there, butcher it while looking like while looking like we just walked out of a 100 year old novel.
That's not really a great argument. Most of the stuff on the radio these days is complete shit. Algorithm rock.
