Here's the boat I made back in high school. Did not leak a drop for three years until we crashed it into a tree in some intense rapids. Had a trolling motor and everything.
When I was bored I handbuild the Rietveld Red and Blue chair in 1:6 scale with actual rod connections.
Fiddly as fuck sawing up piece of wood that fine.
That looks like a nice ladder man, well done. I made an oak DVD tower with soft closing hinges and a drawer on the bottom. Then coated it with ebony stain and a few coats of lacquer. I dont have any pics to post tho.
friends used to always give me shit cause half my stuff is homemade, haha but ive grown to love the fact i know how to make stuff when needed, feels so good to use something youve put time into
thanks! yeah not much into making pieces anymore now that im old enough to buy legit ones, but lathes actually go hand in hand in my mind with throwing on the wheel in pottery. Its obv different and in one you start with a blob and one you start with a square block and carve away but both envelop the same feeling for me, really quite relaxing once you have the motions down. I would recommend anyone trying it if you ever get the chance
but on a more serious note... I built a room under our deck for a recent party. I enclosed the area with blankets, sprayed glostick juice everywhere, had a backlight and lasers going. Called it, "the Universe"
I make guitars from scratch as well as leather guitar straps. I got a replica of the strap that Dave Gilmour uses which used to belong to Jimi Hendrix. Anyways, i got this replica strap for christmas for like 100 pounds and im like hell, i can make one of these. So i got purple dyed sheep suede skin for the front, some blacl leather for the back and some white leather for the x's on the strap and made my own strap.
