Newschoolers Minecraft Server

YO NS Minecraft players! I have been working with a friend (lbuitendam) to set up a server for newschoolers mc players to play on. After some of you bitched about the vanilla server, we added bukkit/plugins to it and are now ready to have people join! We are still working on making sure the plugins are all working properly, so bear with any downtime and maintenance.

****Note! This server is not maintained by newschoolers.com in any way,shape, or form. It is a server I personally set up for NS members to use. Message ME with any issues !!*****

And just FYI, this is run by me on a personal machine. Uptime is not guaranteed to be 24/7 but I will try to keep it on as much as possible. Again, message me with issues.

Server Rules:
1) No Griefing
2) No Bitching/Whining/Moaning
3) No Looting/Stealing/Douchebaggery
4) No Shitty Buildings
5) What Admins say, goes. End of story. (Seriously don't back talk)
6) No asking for blocks/items/promotions. Don't ask us, we'll ask you.

Yeah sorry a couple questions.

1. I torrented the 1.5.1 version, does it need to be 1.5.2? or will 1.5.1 work for the server?
2. will a torrented version work? I figured since it was like a private server it'd work?

3. Is the server down right now? or have I done something wrong, tried putting the address into both add server and direct connect, neither seemed to work.

The server is on 1.5.2 so you would need to download 1.5.2 to join. The server is for people who have the actual game because with the torrented version users can sign into any user name they want but the server can't distinguish between the actual player with that user name or another player with the same user name at a later time. Basically the server is set up so that a certain user with the specific name can do a bunch of commands like banning people and what not, so if someone else were to sign on with the same name when I'm not on they could do what ever they want to on the server.

You have to buy Minecraft to join.
