Working in retail SUCKS

Yeah. Today I made some lady a peppermint mocha and she flipped out at me because I put whipped cream on it. She didn't order it nonfat, soy or lactose free so I made her the standard drink - I definitely wasn't in the wrong because she didn't order it with no whip. But instead she yells at me, I have to apologize profusely and redo the drink to avoid her making an even bigger scene. Ugh.

Oh and last weekend, because the line at the drive thru was long I had a guy honk his car horn into the mic and hold it down for several seconds. I was the poor soul wearing the headset and it hurt so badly I thought my eardrum was gonna burst. I wanted to scream at him, we were already short staffed and working our asses off, it wasn't out fault that 100 people all wanted coffee at the same time that Sunday morning.

I work nights and weekends at Under Armour and I absolutely love my job. It's a great atmosphere, wee have a ton of fun and the discount is phenom. Sure some customers can get rude and shitty but it's not like you've never been frustrated in your life.

I work at a ski shop and its been one of the most fun things i have ever done, sure some of the customers aren't too knowledgeable about skiing, but i have only run into one ridiculously obnoxious retarded person so far on the job. Its a good environment, and if its not very busy they let me leave early to go ski!

im currently working over the phone tech support for exercise equipment. fixing retarded peoples treadmills over the phone for 40 hours a week sucks.

i had one gay retail job, at the ski shop at my local mountain. i got fired. then they gave me a job at the waffle hut and i was like "jokes on you fuckers!"

but then i worked at lowes at the inside lawn and garden department and that shit was straight dope. dude i just hung out with pretty cool older dudes all day and just helped people make their grass grow. theyd be like "hey man my grass is growing like shit, theres all these weeds and shit and like IDK" and id be all like "boy have we got the shit for you, check this fucking grass seed out, it weeds AND seeds motherfucker. you can sit on your couch and drink till you dont even fucking remember having a lawn and then BOOM, youll wake up with a massive hangover and so much fucking grass your heart will probably stop"

also it was chill cause i learned all kinds of stuff about like, insect control, and growing plants and what grills are the best. i know things about killing ants and ant killing products im not even sure im aloud to tell people. but if you came to me while i was working there and needed advice on how to eliminate the ant problem in your tomato garden i would tell you that shit anyways just cause i want you and your tomatoes to fucking succeed. im just fucking like that dawg.

No whip bitch- Don't apologize for doing nothing wrong, but do explain that the drink regularly comes with whip and you must explicitly ask to not have it, but still offer to remake it. Otherwise she'll do the same thing next time.

What do you care if Starbucks makes money anyways, you still get the same shitty wage. That's how I deal with working at McDonalds. Am I gonna get promoted? Hell no. But I'm only working there until I'm done with school anyways and I already have internships to cover my reference checks.

I work in retail at a ski shop and absolutely love it. Sometimes it's shitty but I have awesome co-workers for the most part and have learned so much about the ski industry in general. And the discounts are amazing

I help out for Holiday at a ski shop in town. I love it. The people I work with are absolutely wonderful. Management is so great. The owners are some of the kindest people I know. The gear we sell is awesome. The perks are entirely worth it. The customers are generally pretty high end and go there because they know it's the most qualified shop in town so we typically don't get the, "what's the cheapest goggle?" customer. We tend to get the, "would you recommend the merino or synthetic?" So it's pretty nice. I don't work in rentals though.. I hear their job sucks sometimes.

Please tell me people do not order shit like this, please tell me its exaggerated.

I've worked at a ski shop and it was awesome although you get the people who are just SO stupid you just can't even believe it and then you get the racing families that are so stuck up and snotty that you want to walk away. I worked at a retail job on commission and that was fantastic, made some great friends and had amazing discounts. I work as a server now and you don't understand how bad people are until you work in a restaurant. Holy fuck. plus to top it all off my manager is 2 years younger than me, she's 19 and pregnant. my boss is a UFC juice head power hungry tool who gives no one any kind of positive reinforcement. Although I love the money, working 3 nights a week I can make, easily between 300-500$
