Working in retail SUCKS

Anyone else out there feel this way? Unfortunately for me I have a crap ton of student loans to pay so its really the only work that I can find during the school year that works with my schedule

But im just so sick of this crap. Every single place the manager is some fucking over controlling moron who's life is in the shitter for whatever reason. Totally unreasonable and just over powering douches. I had one awsome retail job but I had to quit for other reasons.

Anyways, currently I work in this local coffee shop. Place is absurd you could film a movie about it. The people who come in on a daily basis blow my mind. I call them granolas becasue there just like crunch hippy weirdos. I can't stand the people who come in there some people are just so weird and out there. My boss is a year older than me graduated school last year hes 22. So im like whatever we can relate since were the same age and he might be cool. Turns out he acts like hes like 45 years old and creeps on everyone in the store. Dude is mega weird. All these retail places are filled with just fucking morons. Blows my mind cannot wait to graduate from school to get out o fthis endless cycle of hell/ rant

fuck yes working retail sucks. i worked retail all through high school and undergrad. money was great, but it gives you a true appreciation to just how absolutely unbelievably retarded the general public really is. i can sympathize with anyone who works retail this time of year. fucking sucks. i'm sooooo glad that my retail ship sailed.

I worked at Target for a bit of high school and college and actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Where I worked if I put in a decent amount of effort I blew everyone else out of the water, and was treated with respect. Had a lot of fun being cart attendant with a really good friend of mine. Awesome job in the summer, when you can just chill outside and get fresh air from time to time.

retail fucking blows...worked at best buy through high school and freshmen year of college. the people are just absolutely morons, both empolyees and customers....my last christmas season at the store I told a lady to just google it because I couldn't take any more of the questions....it was always so nice when you could discuss back and forth with a customer who is some what already knowledgeable on a product.

I work at a bike shop and its pretty cool. Some people are genuinely retarded though including people trying to save money by only replacing the top of the chain because thats where all the tension is put... Regardless my boss is great,so perfect high school and summer college job acheived.

i worked in retail and it was fucking awesome, so chill and all my friends worked there and we partied/skied together and would go for weekend trips all the time. I wouldn't hesitate to go back

I work at Toys R Us, I thought retail was alright until I worked black friday. This season has been fucking awful as my job, it seems like all the fucking nut-job, coupon hounding, non-english speaking parents all came out to yell at me.

ive been working at a ski shop for a pretty long time now along with working at a physical therapy office, and ive concluded with meeting thousands of ppl over the years that everyone except for me and my co-workers is dumb as fuck and mankind is doomed...ppl r so fucking oblivious and stupid it makes me want to punch babies

Huh i have that same problem but im the customer and the employee doesnt know shit. Often times i have to call a friend to have him explain to me what the differences are in two products.

I work at Sport Chek kind of like a canadian version of Dick's and where I live it's honestly 60% asians that can't speak english well or at all so having to deal with them can be so frustrating. But other than that it's pretty good all the managers are really chill and I get awesome discounts

I worked at both Lowe's and Target and though I thoroughly enjoyed working with the people I did, the job itself fucking sucked. Especially being at customer service and dealing with fuckhead customers for hours on end.

22 and work at my local shop, it's chill as fuck ! just sold 2 pair of skis and 3 pairs of boots today !

+bootfitted a solid 8 with nice cleavage, obviously it took me quite some time to find the right boot for her ;)

I'm part-time at Starbucks and am expected to work Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. I am not allowed to take any time off during this time or switch shifts - even though she's scheduled me for way more hours than what we agreed on. Not to mention the fact that I am still in grade 12 and have a ton of homework due this week.

Anyways I work at a super market in dairy. Good job, lot of heavy lifting but occasionally annoying w/ stupid people or when it's really busy.

I work as a Server at Denny's, where I worked full time graveyard's in the Summer. Get at me with bullshit customers. Luckily I'm in college changing this, which I pay with the money I make at denny's

Making the food there (sandwhiches, panini's, soups, salads, etc) all in under two minnutes, when theres 6 orders on the screen to make, is definitely more difficult thank making a mcdouble.

I just started working at a pretty big ski shop in ottawa. managers a pretty anal but so far its not bad. ppl are actually not AS retarded as i was expecting.

on another note i sold two helmets for this guy's daughter's.

..Evan soloman from CBC news host of power and politics. i see him on tv like erryday. Im at work and all of a sudden this fucking tall guy is standing in from of me wearing makeup and dressed like a boss. i was like dafuq i know this guy ermergherddd i know who this is lol. pretty chill dude..

I work at Wal-Mart and its actually pretty chill. There are like 3 other bros that all go to college and the same age as me, and another bro who is my age but not in college and we get drunk together all the time. But the older people who are never going to get a better job are nice, but they are incredibly retarded. It motivates me even more to do well in college so i dont turn out like them.

Mathieu is super chill if you stay on top of it and keep your section super organized and visually appealing. Sure sometimes it's hard to tell if he's being serious or not hahah.. Stay for a while after the store closes and re-stock everything and keep it tidy. Main thing is to make sure you look like you're having a blast selling equipment, I really did and I'm sure it showed.
I had to quit because of school, and I miss working there so much. I'd really like to work there again, I had a great time.
Make sure you get involved with the companies when they let you demo their gear, Mathieu likes to see as many people come out to those and they're super fun!

Though I've worked at starbucks, and now I work at a proper spot, and starbucks was way more stressful because the customer is "right". now when a customer thinks they're right I get to tell them to fuck themselves and it's rad as hell.

I work at a fast food place and I actually enjoy it a lot. All my co-workers are really awesome Filipino people, or people close to my age (I'm the youngest though), and everyone is just super chill. My boss is the nicest lady ever. And its a really easy/slack job. Plus I met my girlfriend there. Also most days I work with one of my best friends too.

When you're making a venti extra hot upside down half caf triple shot half sweetened skinny peppermint mocha with light whip for some psycho bitch staring you down it gets a bit stressful. People order absolutely ridiculous things at Starbucks, it's not just regular coffee. And when there is a lineup of twenty caffeine deprived monsters staring you down the pressure is pretty high to make their drink perfectly and quickly.
