Otterbox vs lifeproof

I recently got an iPhone 5 and I'm looking for a good case. Which one do you guys recommend I like the fact that the lifeproof is water proof but I'm not sure how protective it is.

My friend grabbed his girlfriends lifeproof case and threw it across the room as a joke. They didnt even flinch and picked it up 2 mins later. Phone is fine. Lifeproof is protective, read a fucking review.

Over the summer I hit a turn at about 25mph and my phone flew out of my doorless jeep and hit the road. I had it in a lifeproof and the case was barely marked with my phone fine inside

well if you dont want to spend a rediculous amount of money on a phone case I'd say go with the otterbox. I have the Commuter which is a slimmer version but is still very protective and isnt so bulky like the defender.

i heard the lifeproof case on the iphone 5 has problems with the microphone. something with the people on the other side of the call hearing your voice muffled. i have the otterbox on my iphone 5 and havent had a problem. read a review; the only reason i didnt get the lifeproof was because i didnt want to wait and risk dropping it in hte 4 or so weeks i would have been waiting.

Otterbox commuter. Had the defender and the silicone blows! I hate the Lifeproof case for so many reasons. Plus, with otterbox they'll replace your case if something happens, which obviously rules.

so i have the iphone 4g

i have had bothe cases

if you want a case to ski with so its waterproofd deff lifeproof, ive showered with it and its fine, but its not protective at alkl, the other dya in a sauna it fell about 3.5 feet and completley shattered.

the otter box obvi isnr waterproof but its so much tougher, but a little fatter, but ive threw my phone with otther box like 100 feet and its fine

I don't understand buying a thin, sleek phone and then immediately buying a huge fucking $100 bulky case for it. Apple Care + is $100 and you can replace 2 phones with it, while still enjoying the phone like it was designed. I don't get it, I think those cases are ridiculous.

I took my case off for a while and started to notice all the little fine scratches, it drove me insane.

I have a defender on my 3gs, and love it. Phone is completely indestructible. Its been thrown off a roof before and is just fine, I use it in the shower and have fallen in a river with it and it is fine. Just don't submerge it for awhil and you're good. Its bulky and the silicone seems inconvinient at times but with the case it fits my hands so much better and the silicone keeps it from sliding around or out of your pocket and such. All in all, I love it.

iskin.com thinner than the otterbox or lifeproof with similar protection. I've been using their cases since I got my first ipod back in 2003.

ive had mine for almost 2 years, shower with it every day, take it swimming, skiing, left it out over night during the winter and all that happened was it froze, thawed out and worked perfect. definitely a wise investment

Lifeproof. Ive had mine for months and as stated above I take it everywhere. Shower, swimming if I want, where ever and it is always fine, no problems at all. It is also not as bulky as the bigger, more protective otter box.
Also as a bonus, bitches seem to get the biggest kick out of putting it under water, you'll see.

I have the otter box. I enjoy it. Take it to a store with both and see what you like. They aren't to far apart price wise

I have a smaller case now but its not very protective. i was planning on using the other for Skiing, Mountain Biking and things like that

I have an otter box commuter on my galaxy s 3. Its really slim and fits well in my pocket. It really doesn't have any drawbacks.

otterbox for sure, the fit and finish is perfect and the cases are extremely protective. before i replaced my last phone we decided to try and destroy it, i had the commuter case, and we ran over it, threw it out of my moving car at like 60mph, threw it at shit, etc.. the case got beat up eventually, but the phone was good, it took hitting it with a big ass hammer to actually break it.

its not waterproof, but it will protect it from some water, like if it gets splashed, snow, etc.. even though its not advertised. seriously, otterbox is the best.

The reason is so I can take it skiing and riding and whatever other outdoor activity I would like without having to worry about dropping it, breaking it, cracking the screen, etc. Sure apple care + may replace your phone, but say your on a hike or camping or something or anywhere without an apple store close by and your phone breaks.
