who's read it? I read it and Unfinished Tales over the summer. really enjoyed both... makes the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings more meaningful.

yeah darry, great book. good to hear you finished it. definitly a hard read, as the language and history are all difficulyt to remember throughout, but all in all, the true masterpiece and backbone of tolkien's world

No, maybe he didn't like it. Maybe he kept re-reading it because he couldn't believe how terrible he found it. It's like when you see a really ugly girl on the subway and she's so hideous you can't turn away because you're amazed that anyone could be that ugly and still be allowed to use public transportation. Something like that maybe.
