Smith maze vs Bern Baker...

Sup- which helmet do you guys prefer? I narrowed down my choice to these two helmets and want to her general opinions about their cons and pros.

Bump

Well, i/ve never owned a maze, but i have owned a few berns. The baker is a great helmet, but i've switched over to watts this season because it has vent holes.

Pros:

super steezy

comfortable

goggle compatible

removable pads

stays on head pretty well when unstrapped.

Cons:

no ventilation in baker

no insulation really...

doesn't fit very will with big goggles underneath (eg2, i/o, apx)

velcro from the pads gets annoying.. easy fix

awkward straps

I'm a big fan of my maze, super light, and always seems to be the right temperature. What kind of goggle do you have though? that will really be the game changer, is what fits with your goggles.
If you already have the smith goggles, go with the maze. hands down best integration system out there.

You can't go wrong with any Smith helmet then.

If possible, find a shop where you can try them, and then buy online if it's cheaper. Helmets are so random on every head. Your friend could rock, say, the Baker, and look stylish, like it could fit ugly and wrong when on your head...

Go for the Smith Maze, its a sick looking helmet and your I/Os will go really well with it, its just a question of getting the right color at that point!

Good point made on how well OP's I/Os and the Maze will fit together. I will also add that the Smith warranty and customer service is amazing. I have always had good experiences with them and will continue to purchase their optics and helmets because of that coupled with their fit and function.

i have the baker and all i did is just take the velcros out...........



i love my helmet so i would say go with the baker

Everyone's already said it, but I feel I have to: Go with the Maze.

I have a Smith Maze and the I/O-

If I take the pads off and wear my goggles under my beanie, it looks/feels good.
If I have the pads on and wear my goggles over the helmet, it looks/feels good.

If I ever try something other than Smith goggles, I'd get nothing but a Bern for sure, but with Smith goggles, the Maze is just super compatible.

Sorry for rolling in late if you already made up your mind.
