Yeah I guess.. But if Bishop is serious about devoting NS to user-generated content, then we can't keep according 'legendary status' privilege/priority to inactive/obsolete members, it undermines the system.

Also Chug is hardly legendary in my eyes. He's another drunk self-inflated pro who put out mediocre (terrible towards the end) webisodes and effectively abandoned his fan base. I don't think Chug Life needs to still be an NSTV channel either, his 'glory' days (lol) are over. Nobody cares.

I see what you're saying, but lettings kids just become to their status after two years of being on the site is unfair really, even though in reality it doesn't really matter.

As for chug, regardless of your close minded opinion of him and his series, it is watched just as much as TC, if not more. Its entertaining and compelling, kids watch it, rate it, view it, share it, talk about it and ALOT of people like it. That's why is legendary, not because of the quality of the content.

Unfair? ... Not going to pursue this.

As for Chug Life, there are barely any comments from 2012, even from the last couple episodes. And he hasn't produced anything in over a year. Cosco's no longer contributing to NSTV and I think the spot would be better served by replacing him with an active member who generates new content and is seeking to gain visibility. Chug Life can be archived somewhere so you can still be 'compelled' by grown men lighting their farts on fire.

So regardless of what your opinion of Chug Life is, it is the most viewed thing on the site bar none. People absolutely loved that series. You could debate the quality, philosophy all day long, but you can't argue with the views. Lots of People Love Chug Life. I hope it comes back.

WHat you are talking about with your rankings point of view is that there needs to be time expiry within the system. We actively made the call to not have time expiry built in, though it is something we have considered. The idea behind Karma currently is that it is a points system built off of your entire history's contribution to the website. Anyone at any point has the ability to dethrone one of the legends of the site by contributing something that garners as much attention as one of the past greats.

So we made the call to make it that way. If you kill it, then the only way for someone to dethrone you is to kill it harder than they did.

You could even argue that it is way easier for someone nowadays to dethrone one of the greats, seeing as there are so many more people on the site checking out the content.

Now... we could put a time expiry into the system or some other sort of modifier that measures how long it has been since your last contribution. This would however skew the results to the fact that it would give a lot more opportunity for something current - that isn't as popular - to beat out over someone who did something in the past that was amazing.

So its a dual-edged sword. On one hand I totally agree with you that it would be nice to see freshness populate these lists on a bit more regular basis.

On the other hand though, I really like knowing how someone stacks up against something that has seen an immense amount of popularity on the site.

TL;DR - If someone wants to see Chug Life out of the top spot, they need to make (or convince someone to make) something that people like better than that.
