Too many skis to choose from !

hey standard ski advice thread but im really fucking picky haha.
unfortunately i cant demo any skis.
6'2 168

will be instructing at whistler from jan till end of season..

im looking at buying 2 skis, (price not a problem at the moment), one for groomers/tiny bit of park, and a second for rest of mountain/pow.

sorta went through each companies site, picked the ones i liked then narrowed down my options from there. im still open for options though !

for instructing and a bit of park i was looking at:

armada ar7 in 181, 176.. not growing anymore so not sure on the size of these

armada el rey in 178

k2 iron maidens in 179

and then for my pow/all mountain i was looking at:

line sir francis bacon in 178, 184

moment bibby pro/governer in 184 (website says governer is stiffer, but im hearing from various people that theyre the exact same ski?)

on3p caylor in 181 (next size is 191, too long?)

any thoughts would be awesome and ofcourse +k to all..

looking towards the sfb, because of the length of the caylors..

and el reys for the others.

191 Caylor over the 181 for sure. I'm 5'10", I sometimes prefer a 181, but not often. At your size, 191 all the way.

I say go 185 Armada El Rey. Your a big guy. Unless you like a really short ski.
Then 191 Caylor. Makes sure to talk to the Guys at ON3P cause they do pro deals if you work on the mountain.

I've never been on any of these skis, but I'm also moving out to whistler for the winter too. What type of terrain to you prefer, big open bowls or tight trees? Do you like a stiff damp ski or a softer lively ski? Do you prefer fast super g turns or slower speed S/GS type turns. In the park are you playing around on rails and smaller jumps or throwing down on XL kickers?

Governer is the stiffer, flat tailed, more directional bibby. Same ski as last years special. It's definitely the more backcountry hard charging bibby. Definitely will want to ski all out all the time, Bibby's are still a very expert oriented ski but will most likely perform better in whistlers trees when the upper mountain is closed for avi blasting.

I think the regular bibby or caylors would both be good options. The conditions on Whistler can vary so much in a day that your going to want something stiffer and more versatile to bust through that PNW chop. SFB's are definitely going to be livelier, but most likely less stable at speed. Not my thing, I prefer something damp, but lots of people love em. Other skis to consider in this range would be Rossi Sickles, Moment Death Wish's, ON3P Jeff's. Just make sure to size up, rockered skis are gonna ski really short, don't be afraid to get the 190.

As for park el rey's are a price point cap construction ski. I think your gonna want something beefier. AR7's could be good, Rossi s4's, Moment Jib's/teams. If you want something more playful then rocker would be good. K2 Iron Maiden's have rocker/camber/rocker so they will still be able to hold an edge. IMO but choosing a park ski really depends on your style.

Have you ruled out the Atomic Bent Chetler for pow/all mtn or the Atomic Punx for Park?
