Pretty sure shin bang is because a lot of people have boots fitted wrong and they have about a 20mm gap between shin and boot. Their boot then gets slammed into their shin every time they land/press. The only reason FT dont give you as much shin bang is because they are so soft that even if you have a gap at the front of the shin then the boots will give slightly when your shin hits it. Its pretty much like constantly knocking your shin into something hard about 100x a day.
