Replying to College Essay

Okay so I'm writing my college essay right now and I just need some help. I haven't gone to South America to live for weeks on end, I haven't raised thousands of dollars to cure cancer, I play baseball and soccer so I don't have time for a bunch of excess activities that will look good on my college applications. I just need help thinking about something to write my essay about that isn't cliche and is going to stand out from all these essays the admissions person will be reading about service trips, etc. The only two things I can really think of right now are writing about my former math teacher and baseball coach who I really look up to, and about how the college application process is very superficial and how people just do certain activities to "look good" on college apps. I feel like I could make the second one a very strong essay, but idk if it could work. Thanks for any help
