I don't understand how people decide a word is bad, and they have to change it to something else.


Does it really make people feel that much better to be worth the while? Then when the new word get's worn out they have to change it again. WTF

common examples: Slang
  • Using a personal name, such as "Willy" or "Dick" for penis, "Fanny" for "buttocks" (in America) or "vulva" (in UK, Ireland, and Australia)
  • Using a less harsh term with similar meaning. For instance, "messed up" is a euphemism for "screwed up", which in turn is a euphemism for "fucked up"
  • Other slang, such as "pot" for marijuana, "laid" for sexual intercourse

You can't call a flight attendant that because now they're a stewardess. Fuck, you can't even call a hooker a hooker, now they're a sex worker.

Past a lot of trailer parks, signs for bathroom tissue, restrooms, and saw some hookers in philly. Some other things I'm sure but it just kept popping into my head.

Hell even the garbage man is a sanitation engineer. Fuck, garbage man is a badass title. I would rock that shit with pride. Fuck the haters

I don't think anyone would ever freak out that I called some hookers hookers though.

Idk I just feel like you change up the word, than that word becomes negative because whatever negative things are associated with it are associated with what the word describes not the word. At least I think for the most part.


Idk, I just felt it was my civic duty to bring this to the attention of America. Now my job is done and I can sleep tonight.

I think african americans is a pretty funny term. It makes it seems to me anyhow like being black must be bad cause we cant call black people black? Aint nothin wrong with being black as far as I can tell

Funny shit(at least for me) My parents work at a christian resort. Was at dinner over there a couple years ago and they announced staff ultimate frisbee. Now I fucking love ultimate. Talking to my buddy about it and he wanted to go. Drank a few brews and went over to the camp to play. People were trying to figure out who was on what team. There was a black kid who people were desrcibing as the kid with the red shorts or some color sneakers, which multiple people had. Nobody wanted to say black. My buddy was like "you mean the black kid? Don't worry, I'm pretty sure he knows he's black" Or something like that.

^ not even gonna spraknotes because that was the worst story ever told on the net

Upstate ny. I remember it getting correct on that several times. It was like what the fuck. They're the same people as before working the same job. (literally, I went to one school for 8 fucking years) All the sudden we can't call them the same thing?

That reminds me of the book the giver. That brings us around to both euphemisms and euthanasia.

They euthanized the old people and kids with any problems and called it "releasing" them.

Or another good one is "landscape technician" for a kid who mows lawns.
