Who has the Public Enemies?

Well the ski season is just around the corner and i need new skis. My old Rossi scratches are shot, and I want to get the '05 K2 Public Enemy, but i'm a little skeptical about their quality...
can anyone out there vouch for their durability? I dont want to have to buy new skis again next season...

I got my PEs about mid-winter last year. Beat the shit of them. I ski a ton of tight trees so they got banged around alot and they are still as solid as the day I got them. Granted the topsheet took some abuse, but who cares. Scratches and dings to the topsheet show the skis how much you love them because you actually use them. My vote...Get a pair ASAP

i broke a pair in a few weeks, and they didnt get warrenteed, my friend has broken like 8 pairs.
i wouldnt say they are less durable than other skis, just that no skis really hold up

pros have trouble breaking this ski
think about it this way, mark abma uses fujatives in X, which is built less durably than the pe

honestly, i hate k2 pe's. i had them last year for half a season and they chipped around the edges so easily.
plus i think they are way to stiff if you like big air and pipe.
theyre personally not my favorites, not close

^Yes they are stiff. But they are more of an all-mtn twin than a true park specific ski. That's what the fugative is made for. If you want a ski that will kill it on the entire mtn. and still perform well in the park, PE all the way.

8 PAIRS MY ASS! any way the pe is the cheapest new twintip ski you can buy right now other than the fujative to my knowlege. It is the definition of an all mountain twin because of the stiff flex, in other words its a lot more stable compared to a park specific twins at high speeds. some people dont like this because for tricks like butters or the pipe a soft skis make life easier

alright thanks guys. Sounds like some have had bad experience with them, but i think they'd be good for me. I ski about 65% park and 35% all-mountain, so i thought the Enemies would be a good pick. I'm not a pro or anything in the park, but i go pretty big, so i dont want a ski that's gonna fall apart on me.
I only tried pipe toward the end of last season, and would like to dabble in that more this year, but i'll probably spend most of my time in the park. I got my rotations down last year, and now am trying to get them corked. A painful learning experience I might add.
I'm getting 50% off msrp for whatever skis i want, so the lower price of the K2's isn't what drew me to them; i just like the look of the ski. Was a little worried about how well they'd hold up is all...

i don't like k2's line. the graphics are ass quality and the skis aren't even half decent except for the pistols. thats just my opinion though.

The graphics that the guys at K2 put out year after year are sweet I think. Have you ridden the Public Enemies, Fujatives and Made'N Ak's just to compare?

they are perfect all-around skis and are very durable. the only thing is the topsheet chips a little from bangin around but doesnt affect performance.

ya i rode them last year and i beat the hell out of them but they worked really well and were super durable. i found the 183 a bit big and heavy but i got used to it, just don't expect to do any 1440s. by the end of the season i did break them though...but any other ski would have broke way sooner the way i crash.

They are the best thing that ever happened to skiing... park and all mountain perfectly, and get them center mounted.
