Said even at another mountain. I'd love for loon to do it again but I don't think it'll happen. They canceled it in 09 because there wasn't any snow and then in 2010 it just didn't happen. Really was the best way to end the year. 30 bucks I think. Cash prizes, bbq, big booter, sick rails and sunshine + friends.


Fuck I miss that. Does big boulder still do their may day? That was probably the closest thing on the east coast that I know of at least.

It's a real shame seeing all the snow left on the Mtns after they have closed down. Fucking wasted. I mean, yeah, you have some fun little setups like Mount Snow had after they closed, but get enough people to rally together that are obsessed with Spring Sesh/Rail jam type shit, and there could be some really ill, good sized venues.


The trick would be getting the resort to back you, and actually puting in that much work. Not to mention so many kids just don't feel like skiing come April/May. I guess what i'm trying to say is ...with "freestyle skiing" growing, we will most likely be seeing things like "Hike and Huck" popping up more and more.

There's a lot of snow that could be pushed together. They could even do a park for a few weeks but probably wouldn't. Seems that at the end of the season everyone just wants to end. People are pussies. At the beginning of the year people want to ride so bad and get stoked riding on half dirt. At the end of the season there will still be great snow and people will be "i don't want to ski anymore" It's sad.


Me and some friends hiked rail settups at mount snow till first weekend in june in 09.

Damn, that must have been sick. No one ever gave you a hard time for being out there? This year Lupe, me, and others were out on Grommett setting up random stuff mid April or so.
Too bad they canceled the peace pipe jam.

This season, how cool would it be to set up a Spring Sesh Party... shit, i'll even bring my grill and buy some food! lol.

Nah man. It's basically just be respectful. If you use any tools put them back, don't break shit kind of thing. Nice combo to shred the snow for a while and then skate the deck ramps and the lot.

Reminds me of the Heat Harvest a little north at SR. That got canned when dumont set the QP record and Dumont cup began. Wasn't into newschool then but it looked like tons of fun.

Seems like even with the park kids, once spring comes around they stop caring. People would rather take a boat on the lake, get a round of golf in that ski. It's like dude, you bitch all year that there's only skiing for such a short time and how you can't wait for it to be ski season. Then it fucking comes and after 3 or 4 months you're like meh, I'd rather just stay home and be a pussy.

It really saddens my heart. Honestly those are some of the best days of the season. Eating shit into slush puddles here and there, learning new tricks, hiking in the sunshine, drinkin a few brews. Idk, I love that shit. A couple year ago we set up a giant corrugated at the mountain I worked at after it closed. Seshing that and a couple other little jibs was possibly more fun than I had had all season.

The thing I don't understand is they still build last call? At least they still were a couple seasons ago. I don't really understand the difference. Maybe a bunch of kids possibly not sober hucking themselves off a giant jump after the season is seen as a little bit less safe. I guess I could understand.

You should. Should bring it back home to mount jore. They're always looking to do something innovative there.(jokes)

Would be better at Loon or someplace, but Nashoba had last chance for a few years in a row:
Fun in the sun, eating BBQ chilling with friends, shredding in slush, t'was a good time. No contest, just a session.

It's also usually in May or so, not April.

That looks sick but I really want a big booter. I've been doing peace pipe/stowe the last 3 or 4 years. Did windham for a few years but that place go too swamped for a while.

Hike and huck was in may as well. I think the last one was like the 10th? There was just something about hitting a big booter after after everything was done for the year that made me tear up with joy. Also wasn't really like a contest in terms of being really structured. Sort of just a bunch of people shredding and the judges picking who went to the finals based off the tricks and giving some cash away for best costume, best crash, shit like that.

NSers should go up to a mountain after a park shoot/last call @ loon and hit up the remains of the jumps or something. That or build some park with a jump.

Also my friend learned mistys on the jump at Last Chance at nashoba so the jump is not that small, but still like 15 ft max hahahaha.

It's one of those things that just melts out too quickly. End of season comes a lot of booters get mellowed as they melt down, and snow gets pulled away to cover the trail. Even if the jump is still intact, you've used all your reserves by that point so the snow is just not that thick and the in run will melt out fast.

If you got some people together and a wheelbarrow could build an inrun bewteen the patches and then freeze it with some salt. Would be pretty dope.


The nice thing with rails is you don't need very much. Booters take soo much snow, you're kind of reliant on the mountains building that kind of settup unless you're lucky and something holds up.

Yeah it's no big deal. Just be respectful. That's the biggest thing. IF you used the shovels or rakes, put them back. Don't break shit. Don't leave trash all over the place. Go set something up, sesh it, have fun, take your boots off, drink a beer, hit the mini for a while, and go home.
