So I'm trying to whittle down my options for skiing with some kind of season-pass-lite deal this winter. The main issue is that I'm not a car owner, which makes resort access a pain in the ass. Earl Bales and Centennial are non-options. They're ok for a quick fix, but not places I want to dominate my choices for skiing this winter.
Milton is off the GO line, with a 10-15 minute cab ride to the hill. Might be cost effective with one of their 5 day, 7 night options. Dagmar and Lakeridge seem to be pretty much car access only. Unless I'm mistaken.
I'm a student, but being committed to ski club dates is kind of limiting. Not enough to rule it out, but I'd only be able to make UTSSC's Saturday trips, and night skiing only at Blue doesn't seem ideal. Not to mention, my work and study schedule leaves me open early in the week, so if I could get out Monday/Tuesday during the day that would be much closer to ideal.
I haven't looked into autoshare/zipcar options, they might be cost effective, but I don't have a perfect driving record which might make things sticky. Also I'm having trouble finding Greyhound schedules for access to Blue, but I did see that a twenty pack of passes goes for about $380. Seems like it might be less than autoshare in the long run. But, it's Greyhound. Do you guys have experience with Greyhound's service to Blue?
Is that it for options? For those stuck riding the rocket -- what do you guys do in the city?
