Frequent NS travelers....need airline tip

so im looking to fly from any airport around NYC into Roanoke, Va in october. The cheapest flight iv found so far is $229.

I knwo some of you fly frequently.....any good strategies locating really cheap flight tickets? Im trying to find something a bit cheaper if that is possible and im not really sure since i dont fly often.

What ou think NS

just rent a stallion. It will get you to your destination really fast and for a lot less than flying.

Buy airline tickets on Tuesday evenings. Cheapest day of the week an yes it matters. I've saved 40 bucks on a quick flight by doing that.

Try buying two one way tickets instead of a round trip ticket, it might be cheaper depending on the flight.

Oops, forgot to type the rest, they do use cookies to get your coin, so clear them, if departure date doesnt matter, than you can sometimes get some last minute deals. WOW AIRLINES ARE DICKS

The problem is you're trying to fly in to a regional airport where prices are usually fixed quite. There just isn't the competition or number of passengers for prices to come down. I go through the same shit. I fly from Seattle to Medford, Oregon all the time and it's usually $260-$270 rt, or ~18 cents/mile. I recently got tickets to Puerto Rico for $300 from Seattle, or ~3.4 cents/mile. 1,500 butt-in-seat flight miles vs 8800 for practically the same price.

Some sites and things mentioned here do work on many itineraries, but unless there is a fare sale, you're probably fucked on this one.
