Last summer I got a brand new Fit Inman 1 2012 and rode it to my friends house. It was night when I wanted to leave so I had to be picked up. My dad later came with a car that couldn't fit the bike it in so I left it in her garage. The next day I came back to see my bike was gone and the helmet was lying there on the ground. We later realized that it was most likely stolen by one of her older sisters friends. None of them budged and her rich parents (yes, there rich, they own TrCcity Bank) paid me off $250, $100 less then the bike cost. I mean come on your a fucking millionaire and you can't pay me $100 more... We just left it at that. So 2 weeks ago my friend calls me saying he found the bike and it was sitting in her older sisters car trunk. He also said it was customized, everything but the frame with the serial number on it. I have the paper work for it with the same serial number on it. So my dilemma is do I go over there and take it back throwing fists, call the police and easily get it back, but have them charged with thief, or just keep the $250 and not deal with it. Thanks NS
Uhh...go get the bike. If they try to stop you, bring in the cops. Assuming you have record of the matching serial number, there is nothing your friend's sister can do.
if you have the serial number on a document then get the 5-0 involved and get back whats yours, fuck $250 and that bitch when you can get it all back easily
Take your damn bike back. I dont know how concerned the police are going to be with a stolen bike, but if you have the serial number and everything I dont think it should be a problem. Just call up your local station and ask if theres anything they can do.
go get that shit, mang. if they give you any grief, call the cops and wait for them to arrive. they will most certainly come if you tell them your bike has been stolen and you've located it.
call your local station, explain the situation, and request a police office present when you go there to get your bike back.
that way they'll have no choice, the cop will make sure the number is matching your paperwork, and the rich pricks will have no choice but to be embarrassed and give you your bike back.
Dude for 1, your bike was stolen when you left it somewhere? They shouldn't have paid you shit to begin with. The fact that it was in their daughters car changes that fact, but things get stolen.
how old are you man? why wouldn't he get the cops involved? this is easily the WORST way to go about it.
dude seriously, call the cops. they can take care of the problem officially without causing trouble. you go and steal your bike back you could be in for a legal battle that you don't want to deal with (they stole this no he stole that bs)
trhe cops can go to the house, check the bike serial with your documentation, if it matches they cite the daughter. that causes a court date, which costs money when they have to hire a lawyer to epresent the daughter. she'll then have to pay a fine if found guilty. and if the charge is heavy enough have it blemish her record.
or you could pass on pressing charges (and subsequently ruining her immediate future) and get your bike back through an official channel at no cost to you.
either way it's a win-win depending on how vindictive you are.
don't steal your shit back, that's for immature thirteen year olds who don't know how to properly solve their problems.
tell the cops that you know where your bike is and give them the serial number. They go pick up bike and say that it was reported stolen. You get your bike back, avoid confrontation, and keep the money.
does anybody else find it at all humorous that at the top of the thread ns has it titled "so this girl lost my BM"? atleast thats what it says on my computer. idk i chuckled
How upgraded are we talking? New grips or like new cranks, wheel sets.. Because then you're taking like hundreds of dollars from them so I wouldn't "steal" it. How long ago did this whole process take place? I wouldn't steal it because she probably had it in her car for some dude. What chick is upgrading a fit. If she's older you'll probably get your ass beat by her friends who did the upgrading. I'd call there dad and ask him to explain, say you dont want to get cops involved but you will because this is bull shit. Good luck.
