After much waiting, the new installment to the Bourne franchise has dropped and with Jeremy Renner as the main action hero (although he does not share the same last name with the title) the expectations were fair for me. What I received was, however, was a a bunch of been-there-done-that's and a whole 'lotta confusion. The films starts out with a relatively fresh scene of mountains and Jeremy Renner, I guess, training? This is definitely a slow, but not too disappointing start to the movie. It gradually begins to tell you what the hell is going on after about 20 minutes of Renner jumping from snowy cliff to snowy cliff in less than desirable conditions. I won't spoil anything for any of you Bourne fans, but the plot is very average (once they tell what it actually is after what seems like months of deciphering) and played. Once the duo of Renner and Weisz hits the town of Manila, Philippines, you feel as if you've already seen all of these fast action motorcycle chase scenes in Ultimatum and you where much happier with them then. Overall, as already said, the story is very weak and it seems as if they stretched out what could be just a 20 minute short film.
