A new ski game

Hello! I've been working on this as a little side project over the summer. It's way better if you have a controller but you can play with the keyboard if you don't have one. Try it, there are plenty of bugs!

The jump line is sick, but I think you should change the shiftys back because it's weird now

Hey Malcolm, this has been mentioned a few times now, but (at least for xbox controllers) the ability to tweak the safety grab by pressing shifty no longer is working. Not sure what's up.

Also, is it a big undertaking to map shifty to all the grabs? It would be really awesome to be able to tweak all of the grabs.

The new jump line is incredible. They feel more realistic, and way more floaty, yet it looks and feels great to land in the sweetspot whereas on the original jumps it was way too easy to overshoot.

Lastly, for the guy needing help with a wired xbox controller, you need to download the driver which is linked on the shredsauce page.

I'm working on rearranging the keyboard layout right now. I know a lot of you guys had complaints about the modifier keys opening up different things depending on your OS. I made a thread in the Shredsauce cult where you guys can give me your input

for now tweaked saftey is alt+x, you're welcome, not sure if it will work once hes done updating though hahaha

also if you could clear up those grab instructions on the bottom its just an aesthetic thing :), they say that all the buttons grab with the right hand, when really the top buttons grab with the left hahaha

in that case just make a city and a walk around feature with lips already built in cause i dont ski backcountry and dont want to on a videogame iw ant to hit doperails

yea it would take along time but since he brought the idea of different maps it could be its own map and things would start separating and it would be better if he got sponsors for skis and everything

I keep getting halfway up the jumps then my guy will glitch and gor right through it instead of off it. Happens about 1/2 the time on the last jump

I go basically the same speed every time. The other 1/2 when it doesn't glitch I land right in the middle of the landing

i could literally play for hours, and i do haha, but you should pitch the idea to like EA or someone cuz freeskiing needs a video game for consoles. i still play SSX On Tour for gamecube cuz in that one you can ski!

Give us some status report when you can on how the donations are coming!

Also, I can't wait for this game to have some sort of sound. Looking at the market and hookup on NS, I doubt it would be hard to get some of them amateur phillies in and throwing you some grinding noises and splashes on carved snow!

Not that I mind playing with my own soundtrack, but hey, authenticity is key, is it not :)

All the lines available are crazy, even with one level it's already surpassed Jibberish in my books, keep up the good work and know you are appreciated!

motionjoy made me update today and all the controls got changed. L3 is reset now and start gives me a speed boost.
is this something you have done Malcolm? or is it just the Motionjoy change?
i havent played in a week or so so maybe im just behind on the times.

The the speed boost is nice for hitting Chads Gap anyway

Love this game, this is exactly what I needed while I wait for the snow, an amazing addition would be a bunch of different grabs as well as a falling/crash animation, that would be so epic!! Keep up the good work!!

can't hurt to pitch an idea to EA or whoever.....even a snowboarding game. Would appeal to much bigger crowd and would still awsome and shit to play

half the time i lose all my speed as i go up the jump in the new ones even though im holding up arrow or space. new jumps just feel wierd for some reason. backcountry is sickkk now though

I was trying to fix going through jumps. I did something to the second jump and it doesn't really seem to be working. I'll have to figure out another way

I would look in to getting this on the Android/iPhone market. If you got it on the app store there for just $0.99 you would make enough money to buy Unity Pro in no time.

Anyway you can make the boost go the way the skier is facing? Would make exploring a real possibility.

YES! I forgot to mention this.. And for hitting Chad's it would make it a lot easier. Or just make it so he spawns directly in front on Chad's rather than up on the hill facing the other direction.
