AirForce ROTC field training

My brother's best friend starts Army RASP (Ranger Selection Assessment Program), what is said to be the most difficult special forces training in the armed forces, next week. Fucking gnarly.

Rad. Not really what i was looking for though

assuming it might be what ...2 weeks? they are gonna work on leadership skills. they will most likely be a platoon of cadets or rotc peeps all trying to become officers. they will probably rotate through leadership positions working on combat situations while the other rotc peeps act like soldiers, medical situations, and also field situations with talking on radios making "big situational decisions" they will probably be eating 1-2 shitty M.R.E.'s a day and get one hot meal. they might be walking for a good little distance with a little bit of body armor on while carrying a very basic weapon system with blanks. might hit up a gas chamber and see what it feels like to get riot control gas and see how your mask operates. pretty basic stuff to start muscle memory business. thats what army rotc does and i cant see airforce being to far off that since its all basics.

RASP is some tough shit but it isn't the 'hardest'. Rangers are good at what they do, they are Special Operations and such. They have a very vital but single mission and that's to be shooters. Mad respect to the 75th Ranger Regiment, I would never want to be in their way I hope to earn my tab sometime in my career.

yeah my cousin went to that after he graduated west point, he made it through, there is some crazy ratio to the guys that start and the ones who actually finish successfully.

Definitely not the hardest. Hard yes, but I know some guys who I didn't think would make it in a million years make it through RASP.

SF pipeline is much longer and significantly more challenging.

I re-read my post and my tone seems a little harsh, I apologize if what I said seems a little condescending I assure you I didn't intend on sounding that way. I respect all war fighters be they Rangers or members in the Cadet program.

Yeah I honestly don't have a lot of info about it other than a documentary I watched on Discovery hays but it looked pretty gnarly.

Oh yeah surviving the cut is what you're talking about? People get confused a lot their is a 'school house Ranger' and that's a guy who can pass Ranger School. and their is the Regiment, the school house guys go threw the ringer but its mainly a leadership school...But the Regiment guys are breed of their own. What your cousin did is incredible. Now he just has to earn his tab from Ranger School and he'll be set!

Thanks. ROTC at UW. He had the choice between AF academy or Full ride + Benefits to UW. He chose the latter.
