Cuban grab?

The splash page today claims a cuban grab... I have yet to hear of this until today.

Though.... I like it. Good name, and the body positioning in the photo definitely does it for me. I would personally just call this a tail grab, but I'm curious to hear what you guys think makes it specifically deserve a new name... or if you've all heard of it and I'm just out of the loop.

I'm tempted to say I back it.

I like it. Tail grabs in general are getting so diverse that we need to start categorizing them a little better.

Yeah, that picture is almost a stale tho. right hand on left hand tail is a cuban and vise versa. But, usually people will cross them up a little. A stale is right hand left ski but down between the tip and binding, so you and really tweak it out and that has parallel skis.

yea thats a cuban. slightly related: the crazy grab that dale does in a lot of his cork 7s are crossed lead cubans.

theres no difference between crossed and uncrossed blunts, besides the fact that your skis are crossed or uncrossed. blunt just infers true tail, likewise with cuban and opposite true tail.

Meh, not really, i hate when people rename grabs for when you cross and dont cross cause 75% of the time you are trying to cross but just dont, or vise versa. Right hand to left tail and left hand to right hand tail in any way is a cuban. If you go down the ski towards the binding, its a stale, which are always parallel (a cross stale would be mad hard/look mad weird)

its a tail grab. do it on the tail. you can add on a leading trailing when the hands are switched. in that picture how much different/more or less difficult than grabbing on the other ski. he learned uncrossed tail grabs, then said hey what if i grab the other tail. same thing.

OK:

Left Spin, Right Hand, Right Tail = Blunt
Left Spin, Left Hand, Left Tail = Leading/Opposite Blunt
Left Spin, Right Hand, Left Tail = Cuban
Left Spin, Left Hand, Right Tail - Leading/Opposite Cuban

Vice versa for right side. If you go cuban and grab between tail and binding (not true tail) it is a stalefish. If you go blunt and grab between tail and binding (not true tail) it is a tindy or whever you want to call it (doesn't matter because it is a gay grab). Any questions?

ahhh melvs, so very right.

there's a real nice 5 cuban in his segment in wicked...but yea he was doing them even before that i believe.

balsen was just ahead of the game, was such an awesome skier.

You are not a SKIER, so how the hell would you know what you're talking about? get outta here. it is kinda a lot harder to grab cuban than blunt. serious precision.

and for anyone who's never heard of a cuban, where have you been? they have literally existed under that name as long as blunts have been around.
