Replying to New Powder Freestyle Skis Advice
Hey guys, so I'm a 6 ft 175 lb teenager who's been skiing since the age of two. I got in to powder freestyle skiing four years ago when I bought a pair of Armada JJs (175 cm). These skis have brought my skiing to a whole new level but I'm starting to suspect they're a little too short as well as being pretty beaten up. So I have two questions:
1: Skis are expensive. My JJ's are still skiable but they're beaten up and starting to get more squirrely the bigger and better I get, due to the short length. Is this enough of a reason to justify buying a new pair?
2: If I do decide to drop some money on new skis, I want to get the perfect pair for my style. I'm looking for something a little more stable (maybe slightly stiffer than the JJs?) that can handle big drops but can still spin easy (cork 7s, double flips, etc...). I'm thinking something like the Moment Deathwish, ON3P Caylors, or Salomon Rocker 2 but am open to suggestions. Being able to land switch in powder is mandatory as well as being versatile enough to handle a little hard pack (not much). Also what size? I think somewhere around a 185 cm should be about right, but I'm not completely sure. Any help is appreciated.
