My buddy packs thick dippers 24/7, whenever I see him he's got one in. When he plays hockey he uses his gloves as a spitter and face washes kids it's disgusting.

In my humble opinion, if you keep up with good oral hygiene and you aren't dipping a tin a day, you really don't have to worry about it unless you've been dipping for like 20+ years. I've dipped off and on since Sophomore of high school and have never had a problem taking breaks or quitting (much different then when I quit cigs). It defiantly isn't HEALTHY for you, but then again what really is now of days? If you do it, just keep it in moderation like everything else. Or just use snus, I've been researching it and there is very few, if even a handful of cases which link mouth cancer to snus use.

bunch of my friends do chew. I don't really mind it. I only really smoke shitty cigars though, like PrimeTime's and Colts. Chew maybe once in a while, same with cigs.

I thought it was basically just chew in neat little pouches to avoid the mess and all the tiny little shit getting stuck in your teeth- but I thought you still spit- didn't know you swallow with these. That's pretty gross.

I started chewing when I was 14, im 20 now and its been 5 months since my last dip. Its kinda a nasty habit, but mostly just a giant waste of money. Plus, advice for anyone who doesnt use tobacco, being addicted to something like that is a terrible feeling. I can't judge anyone that dips or smokes but personally I hated the feeling of dependence, and even with that it has been a struggle to quit.

Days O Work chew is the best shit ever.
Though I'm really a pipe smoker, I do like a cheek of this once and a while. And because it's plug tobacco, I can dry it out for a couple days and smoke it in my pipe for a real nice smoke.

So glad I quit dip though. Copenhagen kills, man, I chewed it for 3 months and felt the health affects... those fuckers that chew that for years must be hurtin..

False. Dip is not a carcinogen. It's the continual destruction of tissue that eventually leads to the cancer.

No you're right, but the spit is different. In regular chew, your spit has little tobbacco pieces floating around, which make you puke when you swallow them. When chewing snus, you don't have any of that, and juices from the tobbacco are harmless in terms of getting sick.

I live in a fucking redneck town and everybody dips. Either Grizzly or Kodiak wintergreen's or straight.. except all the real hillbilly kids dip Copenhagen Snuff. J started when I was 13 and chewed until I was 15 and realized it is a disgusting waste of money. I still enjoy one on occasion when I am snoeboarsing or fishing though. I thought itbwas sort of the norm that everybody dips in high school but maybe just in my shifty school..

Well, sorta. American dip has some fiberglass parts that actually cut your lip so the nicotine enters the system. European snus is fundamentally different than american snus as well.

Scandinavian snus is steam-cured, while American dip is smoke cured. Most of the cancer producing agents found in american tobacco products comes from this smoke curation process.

stick to General Snus. It's the best easy to find imported snus and not nearly as bad for you as Skoal, marlboro, camel, etc.

what?.....i chewed for 6 years and I have my jaw, as well as a healthy set of teeth.....one cavity, that was due to me not brushing my teeth well enough when I had braces.

I have since kicked the habit, but when I'm drunk and someone has a chawski I'll throw one in.

I brushed my teeth morning and night and had the regular dentist visit, the dentist could tell but said my teeth and gums were healthy, and obviously advised me to stop every time.




My personal opinion.....smoking is so much more disgusting, at least my hair, hands, clothes, car, house, chairs, dog, dick, coffee mugs what ever the hell it is didn't smell like smoke all the time....being a non-smoker who has maybe had 10 cigs, I can smell that shit on anyone, and it doesn't smell any better if you unload a bottle of axe on your self after having a smoke, you can still smell it, don't kid your self.


all in all, both bad habits.

lol i drank my own spitter on accident....spitting into a vanilla coke bottle, drinking a vanilla coke....grabbed the wrong one...puked and that was the start of my quitting process haha.

I used to buy pouches of Skoal wintergreen (Skoal Xtra) for riding but I have since just gone straight Cope Wintergreen. It's a shitty habit but I got back in to it when I moved to Montana and it went from $7-8 a can to $3...
