I watched an hour long video about soldiers and their personal experiences with PTSD during a mental health class for nursing. That video and the discussion that proceeded it was an eye opening experience for me. PTSD is definitely not taken seriously enough, and from what I saw during the video, soldiers need way more support from their peers and officers, and mental health should be a higher priority in order to help these soldiers out to decrease their exposure to traumatic events and avoid suicide attempts.
I'm no expert but it's for sure something that peaked my interest, can't imagine having to go through it.
