So smart! This will probably be the 'next' thing in terms of shoulder rigs/run 'n gun. So much easier than the 'old' setup with FF

what if your hand twists a bit and you fuck up a shot because you accidentally pulled focus or zoomed.

Great system for controlled environments.  For real on the run shooting or action sports you might easily focus or zoom when you don't want to.  Sweet idea though.

this is a really good point, I think something would work better if you had a button or something of that sort around your thumb or wherever that lets you adjust the focus/zoom
